We have about a dozen pairs of those as souveniers from my many trips to Holland. Bakel and Eidenhoven became my home for several weeks in 1996, 1999 and 2003. On the last trip, I was able to bring my wife along and we did the tourist thing touring by train to Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Delph (ouch!!!!!! that one cost me), and many other cities that I can't remember.
We had a blast. The Dutch are wonderful people and we truly enjoyed our stay. The cheese and dairy products were my favorite.
As far as the clogs go, the kids used them about 100 times each for show and tell at school, then my wife planted flowers in the big ones. She mounted the little ones on the bathroom wall for tooth brush and tooth paste holders.
We keep a couple of pair to wear around the horse barn when it is real muddy.
They really work!!!!!! The make great work shoes for wet, sloppy environments.
Frank, we hope to visit again on our 25th wedding anniversary which is only a couple of years away.

We just wrapped up out annual tulip festival here in Holland, Michigan. I know all about wooden shoes, Dutch dancing, and that kind of crap.

WE go to a sailboat Regatta every spring at this time in Muskegon Mi. Driving from Mpls. To Muskegon w/ a 24' sailboat iin tow is always fun. Holland Mi. is a zoo w/ the tulip festival. Along w/ everything aong the coast. It is almost impossible to hotel rooms. Tulips everywhere, it's a huge deal for those folks. A big tourist atraction.
