.22 bullets? Medium gangsta at best I'd say. But you know what they say, a .22 behind the ear makes a lot less mess than a .45.

.22 is just the most common small caliber rifle, also popular handgun. It was the most accurate bullet for many decades. .22's produce a pretty cool blast noise, not loud and obnoxious like a 9mm and up.
Those are some things you would NOT want in your z if it ever caught fire. I was hunting in Mexico once and a guy -thought- he threw away an empty box of .22 shells into the fire [burn anything that's not bad for the environment when you are in the middle of nowhere]. Turns out there were about 50 left, the whole bottom row he didn't check. Pretty funny to watch 15 grown man, many of them with beer bellies, sprint to the nearest tiny misquite tree for cover. Worst that happened was a guy's truck got shot in the rear, most went into the ground or hit debris in the fire.

I know you were kidding about the gangsta thing but those are .22 long rounds. Either a from a rifle to shoot cans with or a long barrel practice handgun.
And I woudn't be worried about ammo in a fire - without the barrel to accellerate the bullet they would not penetrate the skin.

It would be bad to get hit in the eye or something by one. saw on mythbusters when they were testing the myth about using a 22 bullet as a car fuse. They set off the bullets inside the fuse panel using the cars 12 volt battery, didnt do any real damage to anything.

I used to target shoot with a Russian .22 when I was 8 years old. I guess I was bad back then.
Never had the urge to shoot anything bigger since then... except in simulation games... I guess the biggest there was a Russian 120mm tank gun LOL

.22's are good for squirrel and varmint hunting. I also used to carry a .22 pistol when hunting fowl or dove or turkey to finish off the bird when I found it.
I've also been shot with one of those. Relative of mine was teaching his kid to shoot with a .22 rifle out at my former farm, and somehow the kid got it in his mind to shoot me. As has been said, doesnt make a mess, just gets in under the skin and stays there and stings. Had the shot been aimed better (or in my case, worse) I could've bought it, so the kid got a gnarly spanking.
.22's are cheap rounds, and excellent for target shooting (great deal of match pistols are chambered .22) However gangsters and thug-wannabes like to carry .22's because they are quiet and not messy, also usually easy to conceal. I know if I pulled you over and you had .22 rounds under your seat I'd definately be suspicious, and at least search the vehicle. Good thing you found 'em.

Ahhh, small rounds, nothing to worry about. I use nothing short of 454 casull's, and thompson contender encore's, chambered in knarley rounds like 375 h&h, etc. My desert eagle 50 cal pistol is also fun to shoot, hehe.

too hard to aim a small bullet into a body even up the odds and just run over them with a truck. the mass area of the front of my truck is much greater than the mass area of a little bullet. the only advantage the bullet has is speed but the truck is more fun!!

BS, about small arms cartridges thrown into a fire. Because there is no chamber to support the walls of the cartridge, the wall (most notably the neck) will become the weak spot and split releasing the gas inside. That crap you see in movies about cartridges in a fire spontaneously shooting bullets is just that, CRAP!

.22 is a hit mans caliber of choice. A shot to the back of the head is clean, wont go through, yet it will take out the victim quickly. .22s are nothing to mess with. I have one myself, and although they are not .308s they still are very deadly.

Here in Oregon you just expect to find Ammo in used cars, You just hope it's a caliber you own. Besides Guns and Cars just go together.
Someday I hope to have my own Magazine called Fast Cars,Big Guns and Easy Women.

You don't have a penetrating power with a 22 to take down a deer.
But a human skull at close range, now that is an interesting proposition.
The bullet will enter the skull (if close enough) and then will not have enough energy to exit so it will bounce around inside the grey matter making it into a scrambled grey matter.

I just didn't make the story up.. they all went off. It was at night but one struck a truck about 30 ft away. It was a hunting truck with a busted tail gate so we didn't bother getting a flashlight to see if it did any damage.
My grandfather had to shoot deer with a .22 when he was a kid. You can do it if you know what you are doing. I've been white tail hunting since I was 5 years old all over the U.S. and upper parts of Mexico, I use a remington .270 myself.
Zolorin, you are right about the effects of the .22 on a human head. If you go through the weakpoint between the eyes, or better yet behind the ear, it will go in and ricochet several times.

But honestly, even though it bounces around in your head, a bulllit through the brain is a bullit through the brain. It is going to kill you. Now a if we start talking about full metal jackets to hollow points to the stomach, that is a little different of a story.

I too have found in my first Z I had was a nice unused 12ga. shell in the hatch of my Z, down in the tire well for that matter. As a matter of fact, it's still sitting on my ledge in the garage right now! I should throw a 8mm (7.92mmx57mm) Mauser round in the back of my Z for the next owner to leave him scratching his head over! LOL!
And about the throwing of .22 shells in the fire, been there done that on purpose of course. Well it went off and the casing had peeled back like flower that had bloomed. I of course ducked into the barn for cover

I've not found bullets or weapons other than a cheap knife but have found drugs, and a picture of the dude I bought one z from dressed up like a women kissing another man....that car has all new interior and I've been trying to get that image out of my head for years.
