A&Q about 350Z

Ok, so the MSA weekend was going great until I got up this morning and someone had freaking stole my drag slicks off of mcadams trailer outside our hotel room. We brought them in the hotel room the first couple nights, but then, when we came home from the autocross on saturday we just piled some other crap on top of the slicks that was on the trailer then parked it next to our Z cars. Well we get ready to head out this morning and some sorry bastard freaking cut the straps moved some other crap and stole them. What a coincidence that it happend on the DAY that every other Z car guy left the hotel. Sure it could of been some scum walking by that didnt know what a z car was but I think it was a z car guy, as they knew what to look for as they were mounted on some OLD mag 13" wheels that arent worth ANYTHING on the street as just "wheels" But they are worth alot to z car guys. Im freaking pisses beyond belif. I just got them a week ago and now there gone, Im out about 425.00 with those stolen now! Im so pissed. So if anyone sees some 24.5x8x13" Mickey Thompson ET drag slicks with 95% tread left on them with 6 slotted mags, there mine and notify me IMMIDIATLY, Thanks. To top it off, When I was driving in cali, I had to hit my brakes cause of stupid CA traffic, and my tool box comes sliding from the hatch area, and BAM slams my IBM THinkpad Laptop that I had JUST bought last week, and BREAKS the keyboard and screen. Yea NOT a good day at all.

there arent too many drag strips around, and not too many datsuns running slicks either, so they might be easy to spot if everyone keeps their eye out for them. i mean how many datsuns are actually running MT et's on slotted mags. im not sure how i would confront someone though if i thought they might be them. anything special marks or visual oddities/curb rash etc. on any 1 of the rims that might make it more identifiable?

Yea, there 8 whole wheels, 4x4.5 and 4x4.25 and the 4.4.5 holes are really large for my huge lug nuts, like .812" ID. They are 5.5" width.

That does suck, but you brought them in the first couple of nights for a reason. A strap isn't going to stop anyone, a locking cable would at least have them thinking twice before stealing something on an open trailer.

Yea I know its my fault, no dought about that, just still gets me mad. Money doesnt come easy to me, and I wont be able to afford another set for a LONG time, getting married in three weeks, which means Car money is not gonna be there like it used to be, just really sucks, I work freaking HARD for my money for someone else to take it.

It was just a 600E model, I bought it JUST for tuning MS so I could take my thousand dollar laptop out of the car. I wish it was my thousand dollar one though, as it has full insurence. But I paid 157.00 on ebay for the 600E just last week. :(

That sucks!
1) I use a chain bolted to the frame of the trailer to secure loose parts, or put them in a rubbermaid tool box bolted to the deck of the trailer with a master lock on the latch.
2) ALWAYS use the straps in the back of the Z when putting anything back there!

Man, that really sucks. I was at the same hotel and rember seeing your trailer and thinking that that nylon rope wouldn't slow down a thief. My bed was right next to the back parking lot and there did seem to be alot of activity back there all of the nights. I was with the group of 14 guys from NY and we had to fly home, so you can be assured it wasn't any of us.
I am sorry for your loss, I just hope it wasn't anyone attending the show. I have always found that the Z car community is a largly honest group. I will bring it up with the other guys who were there with me and ask if any of them saw anything unusual. Which part of the lot was your trailer in the night of the theft?

I second that we should all pitch in and help replace them, I mean if we all could part woth 5 or 10 bucks then they should be replaced in no time. I'm a sucker for a hard luck story.

Sorry to hear that you got the slicks stolen. But it's NOT your fault. Sure you could have brought them in, but the fault only lies with the worthless piece of sh!t that took them. Hopefully someone can spot them and help get your slicks back (along with unite said person with a worthwhile beating). I seriously hope it's not a fellow Z owner, because if it is I think we could blackball that person pretty quick.

That sucks !! 2% of people are thiefs and criminals, some of the 2% just happen to own z cars, they may have good taste in cars but they are still criminals and will robe you blind given the chance.
think having your slicks stolen sucks, a few years ago i brought home our christmas tree and instead of putting the tree in the garage i left it on the side of the house for 30 mintues while i made a trip to home depot. I came back home and the tree was gone and i live in a nice middle class area in san diego.
the tree cost only 50 bucks but dam the point of it stealing a tree!!
i kind of hoped the tree would catch fire and burn down there home, but they proubly would of sued me for allowing them to steal the tree that burned down there house.
