You didn't specify what kind of car and what year it is also. A high sulfer content in fuel can cause the smell in late model cars.

If it's a new car, or you just replaced the catalytic converter, that's the culprit. New cats can take a little while to get broken in. It'll go away eventually. Now if it's not a new cat, hmmm....
