NZR: 1986 Ford Ranger XL

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Hi
I just came across a 1986 Ford Ranger XL. I test drove it and it seems really awesome (for an 80's truck, anyways). I figured I'd ask here since most of you know a LOT about anything car related. Anyone ever had one or any experience with one? They want $800 for it, and it is in great condition. No rust, no oil leaks, just in need of a tune up. Miles are either 129K or 229K--no sixth digit:( The rust thing is the most surprising--I crawled under the truck and there were no holes in her. She seems to have been taken care of:)
Thanks

I'm not a fan of rangers, but for $800 and it runs drives, rust free I'd say go for it. A guy I go to school with has one about that year and he really likes it.
2.3l or a V6?

Haha!
It just so happens that my daily driver IS a 1986 Ford Ranger XL with a V6.
I hate mine, but that's because the clutchy is really stiff and difficult to control, it handles like a shopping cart, the steering is real loose, and it's old and rusty.
On the other hand, the power and gas mileage is pretty decent, it NEVER breaks down, it obviously takes abuse, and the quality is much better than any S10 you'll find.
You can email me if you want more information.
