A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Jeeze I didn't expect it to take this long! I'm only half done now! But the bad sides are over.
Here's what I've done so far.
Sprayed down the engine bay with a 2400PSI pressure washer
Sprayed down the engine bay with a few bottles of carb cleaner
Wiped down the engine bay with alcohol
Wirebrushed some rust until it was shiny metal.
Steel wool the engine bay
Rewash engine bay to remove dust
Alcohol once more
Remove everything that prevents me from spraying the engine bay.
Tape everything off
Prime/Spray/Clearcoat
Clean/Prime/Spray/Clearcoat all plastic and metal brackets
Cut old looms apart
Clean looms with alcohol
Wrap looms with tape
Reattach everything and tidy it all up with all new hardware.
God the passenger side and firewall were a pain.....SOOOOOOO many wires and lines and electronics in the way.
The driver's side will be a breeze!
Can't wait to be finished so I can clean/paint the engine and transmission that will be residing in there!
It's taken a long time, but it will be worth it when I'm done.
Unfortunatly it probably won't be ready for Monday's Z meet.

Looks great! Hey will you do mine? Just Kidding I'm painting at this point and was hoping for the Z meeting Monday but won't be done. I will get to one soon. By chance does your parts car have a nice top black rubber that goes across on a 79 -81? You're doing a great job on it!
