A&Q about 350Z
Q:
My friend has a super charged 93 Buick Park Avenue with the 3.8 and his fuel pump went out on him. I know its in the tank but does anybody know if you have to drop the tank top get to it or if there is an access panel on the top. I am not near the car and I said I would help him change it if the tank didnt need to be dropped. Has anybody had any experience with this?

Drop tank - remove sending unit - clean and flush tank -
install new pump AND strainer.......etc.,etc.,
Two snags......rusty sending unit tubing, and probably rusty close-to-immovable lock ring holding stuff in......and if you destroy the lock ring getting it out, new ones are hard to find unless you buy a new tank or wait a few days...........
If the tubing breaks, you're in for a search to replace / re-tube fuel lines in that area.......CAUTION ! !

Thanks for the input. Of course the tank is full. Isn't that always the case. I guess I'll just give him the bad news and have him take it to a shop to fix. I'm sure I could do it but I would rather not.
