Does anyone know any specs on the car or any problems with this car?

Here you go, looks like there's a ton of problem areas and many recalls. Sounds par for the course with any GM car, though:

.....just matters if you like "premium" gas prices as I'm sure
many are. A manager at work had one, traded it for the new
Bonneville, which also takes premium (but then he only lives 3 miles
from the office! no big deal for him!) Might be worth thinking about....

buddies got a 97 or something - he slapped a pully on the charger and fabbed up a cold air and the boat it is weighing 4000+ lbs ran a best of 14.2 or 14.4 quick for how much of a fatty it is
i alwaysed loved ridding in it but it kinda sucked to work on and the back 3 plugs are one of those ones where you gotta move the motor to get to

Final drive gears in tranny are known problems. Especially in the pre-2004 trans. The GTP will kill them eventually if bet on too much. My wife has a 99 Grand Prix GT. It's a fun car, but not really fast. It does like to cruise at 100MPH though. 60-110MPH is pretty fast in those cars...

My wife drives a 1999 Grand Prix with the 3.8L that I bought with 35000 miles and it now has 90,000 miles and NO PROBLEMS at all.
I just bought another one to add to my car harem. It's a 1997 GTP.I took it to the 1/8 mile track and it turned a 9.45 @ 73.5 mph with no mods.
That's great for a heavy azz pig!!
However it is true that the trannies are weak once you seriously start abusing them.
