My God, when Mega and I were at the Daytona hotel after the Ash tune this guy had a big pick up with Amtrack horns in it. He blasted them away severely annoying everyone around.
Well tonight I am sitting on my quiet porch with my family and this pick up backs into the driveway across from my house. All of a sudden there were two long blasts from the truck that through me completely out of my chair and sent my heart rate to the moon!
I yelled a few choice words at the guy and he seemed unimpressed and confused why I was so annoyed. The horns were so loud my three year old ran crying into the house.
What is the deal here? Is this just a red neck thing or what? These guys actually install air tanks for these horns?
I could just imaging a little old blue haired getting one of these jerks behind them. They wouldn't survive.

yah its a trend. not too new though. The worst part is these train horns actually cost thousands of dollars. Some jack ass pain THOUSANDS of dollars for that!
It also reminds me of the thing where you weld a whistle into your exhaust. so you can hear this whistle from miles away.

not a new trend. I remember some guys installing them on semis back in the early 90's. the train horns are like 10x as loud as the airhorns on the semis.

You mean these? This is a site that sells those kits. Watch some of the other demo videos. At one point the guy actually has the balls to get a cop with those horns.

Oh I've seen one of kids going around with the horn of a fairy boat installed on their car. They did a video and posted it on the net of themselves doing that in like parking lots.......................idiots.

during beach week this year in ocean city, this idiot in a big ass cummins ram did it about 1000 times, unfortunately he was in the condo next to ours, it stopped when i called the police.

A friend of mine installed them on his 280 for that same reason Junkman. He says it works. I think it might be a little overkill.

Doing a right turn with the light on a street with a double turn lane, guy on the inside, me on the outside, he just slides right into my lane on the turn.
My little freakin' horn didn't do squat. He just looked at me like "What? What's your problem?!"
I would've loved to have given him 145db for about a two second burst.
If it didn't cause him to have a heart attack and eliminate him from the gene pool protecting the rest of my family from his stupidity, at least it may have made an impressoin on him to pay a little closer attention to what he was doing.

i pieced together a setup for my DD,,,,after i got fed up with all the sightseer's driving 15mph in the 45 zone on the major highway in biloxi,,,on my way to work everyday.
a 10liter air tank from a land rover, 2 rover compressors, and a triple air horn. the compressors are rated at 150psi, and the pressure switch on the rover is set to 150. less than $80 total. this is the air horn i got.

At a car show in Daytona my friend and I were standing behind a jacked up Ford F350 trying to take pictures of a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. The truck had train horns strapped above the rear axle, right where we were standing, and blasted them as we were standing there. We were going to kick his ass if we could find him...
