Anyone had experience with or know any pros/cons to a 92 325i with the auto? Is very clean and has the M3 front bumper and M3 wheels, sagging headliner and 225k but he says it runs great. Any help would be appreciated.

high mileage high maintenance high blood pressure.don't buy it i would buy a civic with 225k miles before i buy a bmw.i'd like to get a 96-98 m3 almost bought one.i was worried about the high maintenence.

I have an 93 325i, it was damn fast, but and yes there is always a but, I sold it with over 240K on the clock and the motor ran like a top, but watch that auto tranny they tend to lock in high gear (mine did). The motors will last forever if taken care of. and the only bad thing about the car was the interior and stero, the speaker were wayyy under powered, and the interior while nice was prone to breaking and those parts are VERY VERY expensive. In the end if the car look well taken car of, take it to the dealer and have them run a dia. on it to find any problems, they will find them if they are there. I wouldn't pay anymore than 2.5k for the car TOPS. I sold mine for 3K and it alot of mods on it.

I've heard the only problem with the autos are in the mornings, they are hard to shift at first because the tranny fluid runs out of the torque converter, making it difficult at first. But he said he has no problems with that, and that it runs just fine. I suppose the ol' tricks of the trade, such as driving it, checking the brakes, and checking under the oil cap for signs of sludge will be put to use. Hopefully it runs good and looks as clean as it does in the pics. 3k I think is a fair price but a nice BMW with a sportier front bumper and wheels.
