lol Knew that was coming! I dont mind if you love one style Z over the other, but it does seem that the 1st gen Z owners have a straight up hatred towards the 300zx which I find a little disturbing considering we're all "supposed" to be part of the same crowd. The Z gods punish you for it with all that lovely rust :)

So ignoring the Datto trolls, which Z was it justinrhenry? I dont mind either way, I'm eyeing (eying?) up a z32 JDM hardtop myself to import in the near future. Only really interested in the hardtop version because targas are too common, I just hope I fit because I'm told the roof is way lower.

No sorry, I just meant datto as in short for datsun. Common name for datsuns here, sorry you didn't invent that hehe... It's just typical that Datsun Z owners are going to bash this thread.
It's kinda one sided too, aint no Z31 owners who hate 240z with such a passion so what does that tell you? Lots of old and bitter 240z owners that's what.

i love the 87-89 z31... im not fond of the 84-86... body lines dont tickle my fancy.
and i would kill for a z32.

i have a buddy that owns a 72, a 73, and an 84 turbo. loves them all. i like the 300 for the most part because, not inspite of, the robotic look. its totally 80s just like the s130 which i dearly love, even if a lot of guys don't because their suspension wasn't as stiff from the factory. who cares. they say the car was slower but looking at acceleration times the stock zx beats the stock later s30s. but who cares, hardly anybody's car on this forum is stock anymore. as far as the z coming out of a coma, well...the z32 even with twin turbos wasn't outrunning anyones testarossa. just because it gained some ponies doesn't mean that its competition hadn't either. the z was never meant to be the absolute fastest out there but as everyone knows it was a good bargain for the performance and easy to modify yourself so it could be very very fast. i think the z31 did a good job of filling that spot in the z time line.

I think all the best looking cars were made before 1960 myself.
