A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Finally, I got my exhaust installed at AAA Muffler. $219 for 3" exhaust (not mandrel) from downpipe to muffler. He did a really nice job on the exhaust. And since I just completed a welding class at my local community college, he let me weld some of it too! It was pretty cool. I told him I didn't want it very loud, since I'm not looking to attract attention, so he put a basic 3" in, 3" out "turbo" muffler on it. It sounds really nice, pretty deep, and not too loud at all.
Anyways, now that the exhaust is on, I was able to get the inspection sticker, which was only $12.50 since it is >25 years old (no emissions test)!!
So now I can legally drive my car, and it doesn't make my neighbors hate me anymore! That means I FINALLY got to do some tuning on it. It is running SOO ridiculuosly smooth. It was really 'jumpy', but that turned out to be an issue with my acceleration enrichments. I've been driving it everyday for the last week or two, and so far, no problems!
I'm happy!

Yeah, i'm 'non-intercooled' so i don't plan on running any more than 10lbs of boost. So the ehxaust should be fine. But actually I was surprised at how smooth the bends were. Of course, there were some small indentions where it was bent, but it didn't "flatten" the pipe like I expected. The guy who did it has been doing exhausts for like 20 years. He was telling me all about how he used to do the Z's in the 80's and what the popular styles were back then!

Yeah, i've been having trouble keeping my foot off of it, but I know the programmable Over-Run Fuel Cut is helping! Injectors shut off if map< 40 kPa, rpm>1700 and TPS is closed! Also, AFR target tables are about 15-15.5 right now for low load areas of the map. Once I work out some issues I'm having with the wideband, I will probably set the lean areas to 16.0 or 16.5.
