Naturally im in as this is finally some aftermarket support for our beloved beast.
Good part being that his prizes arent even that steep compared to a new OEM hood.
Anyway what im looking for is people who want in..
For those unfamiliar with Beta motorsport!
this will meansdealing with a reputable shop and a knowledable guy!
I have seen his shop and work.. and it looks very good
Feeling the water here.. this would mean having to put in a downpayment!
So if you are intrested have the $ lets hear it

I don't post here a lot, just read a lot (to learn) since I joined so don't be surprise.
I'm in for 1 real Cabon Fiber hood and if there's a hatch, i'm in that one too.
I don't mind sending a downpayment, just let me know how much would it be (will it be half of the orig price that's around 700 for the hood?) and where to send it.
Thanks for your effort in making this deal.

That would be great!!!! Any ideas about the price? I'm in as long as the price is resonable and by that i don't mean I want it for $500 I know you get you pay for so as long as the quality is good I'm in.

see the link
After talking with Frank - he moves fast - I estimate a 280ZX carbon fiber hood (a real CF hood) primered would be about $675. A 280ZX fiberglass hood primered would be about $330. A 280ZX fiberglass hood with a layer of CF on top and a clear coat would be about $480. These estimated prices are for an OEM style hood without the turbo NACA duct or vent.

There are already CF hoods for sale. What is going to make these different than whats already out there being sold?
So John is not making them anymore or handing it off to you as a dealer?

Why CF? The hood is not a structural part. Micro ballons and fiberglass should be just as light and half the cost. Just curious.

cause it looks "tight"? i guess its just a style trend.

I sell (for the S30) fiberglass and CF hoods. The glass hoods weigh about 15 lbs and the CF hoods weigh 6. And either of these hoods need to have some strength because of the air pressures in the engine compartment at speeds over 120 mph (my main market is racers).
Regarding the S130 hood, it looks like there's enough interest. I will talk with my compsites guy and get his mold making schedule. I will create a thread next week in the HybridZ Vendor's forum that will outline the details and how to get one of the hoods. Thanks for the interest.
