A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Or how about, the NEW Nissan Corvette, the Infinity Vega, you get the idea... come up with some of your own! ;-)
It could happen! And Ghosn wants the whole thing or nothing!

Of course, I'm just poking fun.... but ya never know in the NEW WORLD ORDER!

Ghosen didn't say all or nothing.... He said he didn't want to control GM, but will have a partial ownership to make sure the interests of Nissan/Renault are covered. Taking control of GM right now would be like buying the Titanic right after it hit the iceburg.... They need time and support to turn the company back to profit making. The union stranglehold isn't helping much either, but isn't the reason for the problems they are in.

A 350Z with a real 350, say LS1 - yeah I'd take it.
Chevy really needs a new design team, beside the vette their cars are just ugly and weird. It's like an orchard of ugly trees grew up around the chevy plants and every vehicle that comes out runs into one.

interesting analogy.
I don't know about the merger. Ghosn is a smart fella. He knows a helluva lot more about automobile companies and how much value he can unlock from GM than we do. Plus, he can get all that hidden value at an incredibly discounted price (GM's stock price performance has been nothing less than pitiful).
He just needs to be careful that he doesn't adopt any of the GM business model. It is an outdated model that needs to be revamped. The "cost-cutting" approach to car manufacturing has it's place, but not when it dilutes value...which is what it does at GM. The Vette's great, but you can't run a multi billion dollar company on one car and let the rest fall by the wayside. I think GM has some great technologies and ideas, they just don't know how to implement them.
I like the idea. My only fear is that Nissan/Renault will stop being Nissan/Renault. Nissan has a great identity right now, and an incredible brand name. Merging with GM could boost that exponentially, but if they aren't careful, it could cause them to crash and burn.

Yeah, a 350Z06 with a fiberglass body!
No RUST!!!!!!!!

the whole thing is scary. I'm just worried about Nissan getting dragged under by GM.
1972 240z w/L28, tokico shocks and springs, and a 5 speed waiting. Also running high performance ultra mega blinker fluid, that's at least an extra 50hp to the wheels.
1987 Toyota Supra Turbo 5-speed. Belongs to me until my friend get's back from Iraq.
A:
No way...Not going to happen. If anything, GM will get dumped again if they don't step it up.

Nissan almost did that on their own back in the 90's, it was Renault who saved their butts! This is just a Partnership it's not a Merging!

Why not use the LS2?
