here in western nebraska the state troopers have everything from a iroc camero to a hemi pickup its pretty bad when their cars are faster AND look nicer than ours!!! they have done away with the big old lights on top and have gone to really slim roof lights or lights in the grill on marked cars!

I saw a Jeep Cherokee with the NC State Trooper paint scheme and a uniformed officer in it the other day.
Not to mention I saw a guy get pulled by a black Expedition with nothing to identify it as a cop except a permanent tag.
Our local police force (Union County, NC) now has a Charger cop car and several unmarked Impalas.
Stallings, NC is running a bright red Mustang GT cop car.

I saw only one Charger patrol car on the road but had a good, up close look at one at an auto show. A traditional black and white cruiser. A mean looking car that you do not want to see behind you with lights a-flashing.
A friend of mine from Nebraska said their state patrol has a Viper.
I'll definitely be waiting for the auctions.

I beg to differ and speak from experience more than once.... you can outrun their radios especially on the new bikes out now. dont believe everything you see on the cops tv shows where they always get their runner.

NC also, and yes we have plenty, plenty of random unmarked cars. I've already been seeing a lot of the chargers. One trooper up here has a marked camaro that runs low 10's. He catches bikes all the time. NC also still has and uses a large fleet of motorcycles and man those suckers can hide anywhere.
It is easy to outrun the radio in the mountains, you just have to get out of there sight long enough to pass a few roads and them not know were you went. But more than likely you will run into more cops as they will be swarming in on your general vincinity. It's not like the old days, it is really stupid to run anymore. Even if they don't catch you at the moment they will remember the car/bike and get you eventually. Some of the new radars are so accurate at long distances and have photo capabilities that they can get a picture of you and make out the tag.

Agree. If they can drive that bike; forget about it. We even have a no bike-chase policy, too many bad wrecks = lawsuit, and no car chase unless its a felony; or a ricer, lol. We wont chase you for a minor traffic violation. Z cars I would chase, just to look at it.

I remember seeing a Corvette police car in Toronto about ten years ago. I have no idea if they still have it. The cops here in Calgary have a couple of Hummers. I haven't seen a charger yet, but I'll keep an eye out.

In Reno the RPD is using Chargers and Magnums, I guess the Magnum is for the k-9 unit? Kind of scared the hell out of me the first time I passed one.

the local po.po. use the magnum for the k9 unit and its been the tester before they order all the rest i geussed. 240zcar the city i live in is petaluma in sonoma county just 12 miles north of marin county or 30 minutes from the great gay city of san francisco. the chp ride bmw bikes and drive new cameros, some local towns have police car they take to sears point race track (infineon) for race the cops night. novato has a nova that runs like 10s not exactly sure . but as for the legality of the tickit i was STEAMIN PISSED but i didnt want to deal with fighting it and just paid it . that cop was riding a H.D. bike and saw me reading the menu board when he was at a stop light right across from the box.

for me they didnt have time to set up road block they just set the chopper down in the middle of the road in front of me and smiled with guns! i stopped! got me for 168 in a 55. it was expensive. (1976)

1970 dodge challenger R/T-- shaker hood, 1965 413 wedge measuring 850 hp on dyno , 4 spd t-10 hurst, dana rearend. 16" wide mickey thompsons on the back. not stock suspension and a " bullet proof" 19 yr, old driving. lucky to still be alive and much slower these days!
sadly in june of 1977 a drunk driver in a 4wd dodge pickup with a cabover camper t-boned it in the drivers side at 105mph. he was 4 times the legal limit, 56 yrsold and the cops were chasing him thru town. i was sitting at a green light in the turning lane waiting to turn. he came up from the right , ran a red light and nailed me. both vehicles slide100 ft stayed stuck together and caught fire( his battery exploded into my interior. i hit my drivers door 4 times before i leaned back into the flames and kicked the door open. i got about 20 ft. away and the nitromethane we were running in the tank exploded. funny thing was the cops said i was still in the car when the news media showed up. i quess i was a goner for a while!!!
the bastard that hit me bonded out of jail and left the state. never heard from him again. i was a stupid kid and only had libility insurance and never got a penny for a car that i bought at 15 yrs old, wrecked and spent 3 yrs building before ever getting it on the road. i put my heart into that car and it was gone in a second. ( huge lesson here about full coverage insurance)
the fire dept couldnt figure out why every time they put out the fire it would flame back up- i understand that nitromethane(airplane fuel) doesnt need fire to flame up that heat will do it. i doubt seriously since homeland security came along that the average person could even get nitro anymore. melted the ends off my sparkplugs about every third race!!!
i had 4 more 70 challengers but none as good as that first one.
bad accident in the next to last one and lost my ability to be bullet proof!!!!

yea it was great in a straight line but it also had a lock rearend and really didnt turn good at all. i knew the road very well and had about 70 miles of straightaway except for that damn helicoptor!!!!! it was also a memory and fast time that you couldnt buy - had to live it!! i think they call those " the good old days" LOL!!!!

hmm...I have fueled alot of airplanes mostly civilian but F4s and other military birds...but never seen one with nitromethane..avgas, JP4, JP5 and Jet A but never seen an A/C run on nitro...maybe a radio controlled airplane...they dont use nitro in aircraft...aviation fuel is mostly pump gas with a lower volatility and lots of lead added.....regular Lear Jet type jet fuel is (Jet A) kerosene...

I have a few photos of car club members smiling after getting a ticket for 84 in a 55. They were happy because it was like a $75 ticket where they were.... Had it been in california, there would have been another zero involved in that fine, somewhere to the right of the "7", you pick a spot, either would be close depending on the Ca Jurisdiction at the time!
I didn't have two cops in a Chopper point guns at me, but I did have six squad cars and a Metro Flatbed with four or five guys over the cab, all with M16's point their weapons at me...

i was escorted back to the last little town on the road Ault Colo. they put me in a mayberry jailcell till 7 the next morning then the police chief came in and had me empty my pockets and get all the change out of my glove box and counted up $467.40 and wrote my ticket amount for that figure . he than said you have a half a tank of gas in your car that should get you out of Colo. and back to Cheyenne Wyo ( my home for 38 yrs.) but he still didnt let me . he said i had to wait until the state cop that clocked as i came thru HIS town wanted to talk to me and to have a seat as he was on his way . so im thinking - you made me spend the night in this crappy little cell, took every penny on me, and now i have to wait to get my ass chewed ( hell i could get that at home ) funny thing is the cop comes in and asks me to step outside than asks me to unlock the chain holding my hood down i do it and than we spend 45 minutes talking about what the stuff is under my hood and how the engine was built- where i had it blueprinted and balanced , what cam what kind of head and valve work, he really liked the gallon coffee can that the fuel line coiled up in before going to the two 4 barrel carbs( pack it with ice for those who know) thru out the whole 45 minutes all he said about the night before was that he was driving a VASCAR and it was supposed to be the fasted thing on the road and i walked away from him like he was standing still than suggested i slow down a bit . seems he was a huge car guy.

MSP used VASCAR for a long time, neat little B&W photo with a photo of you in the car (coming or going depending on if it was the front unit or the back) and a "digital date stamp" with your speed on it.
You usually didn't get to see them unless you fought the ticket in court, at wihich time you found out that the MSP had the polaroid or whatever it was attached to the ticket they gave you.
Pretty neat, it had a tag line on it someting like "You have been clocked at XXX mph by VASCAR"
I always used a thermos water cooler (1 gallon) because it kept the ice & water colder longer. Everyone asked "What you got that thing under your hood fer?"

AT 56 I just had several tickets all dismissed because I fought them - see (City Prosecuter Is ...) and before that a ticket in 1989 for not placing a registration sticker on my liscence plate - had it and forgot to put on the day before.
