A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I got a hold of the G-nose fiberglass kit :) and thinking of making the mold out of it and then make polyurithane G-nose

There is a post on Classic Zcars that among other things talks about how a urethane g-nose isn't the best option because of the amount of flex inherent to the material. Apparently it would take a lot more mounting points in order to not deform or sag, like urethane airdams do when you drive fast. Just something to consider, not saying not to try. Why not fiberglass or carbon fiber?

A:

ohh God.. a carbon fiber Gnose!! holy crap i'd buy it in a heart beat

hmm
to layup a carbon sheet and make all of the strands look good is a difficult job
Fiberglass is kinda old, and polyurithane can survive the beating

Problem #1 would be flexibility/rigidity related, but problem #2 would be hood hinge related...... They're not out there, and you need special hood hinges for the rake of the hood as opposed to stock when she opens.
Cheers!

There is a group buy for the link posted by Blue on hybridz.
This is where Nissan in Japan redirects customers since the factory g-nose isn't available.
It is the highest quality kit available from what I've heard. Their reproduction kit is like $2.5k+ if I remember correctly!
Factory hood hinges can also be modified to work like g-nose hinges.

So how much does that cost? And how much are there bumpers?

A:

Hmmmmmmmm, three parts and my original G-Nose is reconstituted. I was unaware anyone sold that Urethane Bumper any longer, I was thinking I would have to settle for an FRP replica.
Looks like some international exchange will be going on. I need a Right Headlight Case, the Upper Apron, and the Bumper to complete mine (OEM) and these parts look to do the trick...
As for Urethane.... Maybe the lower apron, but trying anything above the bumper or the bumper itself is a Waste of Time IMO, nothing there that needs anything but FRP.
But beware, everybody says they "want" stuff here, but when the cost exceeds $1000, suddenly everybody "wants" stuff, but for less than your cost to produce it!
That kit is closer to $3200, which is about the same as the Nissan OEM components last time I priced them in 92. Mupliple piece is the way to go, the single piece units simply suck, unless you get a good Japanese Produced Part (like those in the link)----and even there you are looking at over $1250 for one!

Price from Shouri Motorsports for the Deluxe kit is "only" $3000 including shipping and handling. Headlight covers $525 + shipping. They get them from Marugen Shoukai.
