One of the fringe benefits of owning a Z repair shop is that we have customers with very nice cars. After getting their approval I'll take a picture to share with you. Today this 1970 Series 1 came in and it is beautiful. Green with butterscotch interior just perfect except for the non-original mirrors which he has in his garage as well as the original wheels, tires and hubcaps. Original owner #10197
Not original paint as this car has over 200K on it and is driven daily.
There are no flaws in this interior.

I think it is great when folks drive these cars, thats what they were made to do. We certainly can't take them with us so might as well enjoy them while we're here.
Says alot about your business to have an owner trust you with that caliper of car.

Love that color combo. A 1970 240-Z just like that won the peoples choice award at the 2006 ZCCA show last month in Dallas. The lady was the original owner!

When I look at that car I think back to 1970-1971 and imagine the Parking Areas at Long Beach harbor with thousands of brand new pristine perfect Z's and what that must of been like (woody). Because today a 78 280Z came in and was the exact opposite of this car and at one time it was just like the green car, perfect. Now it has rust holes everywhere, and I tried to picture it in brand new condition and because of this green car I could. And I could appreciate why the owner was about to sink 1000 - 1200 into the car to start its way back to what the green car is like. It also reminded me why I could leave a very well paying job to sink my life saving into a struggling Z shop. It just firmed up my conviction to bring many an old beater back to life was way better than calculating the EBITDA for a bunch of rich guys. I'd rather work on their cars, and I'm finding that lots of them like Z's. If you get a chance to buy a Z car Cheap don't hesitate, they are going to be like gold. IMHO of course.
