i tell you that i beat a '95 gt stang automatic.. and morons chime in "well durr my brother has an 03 blah blah blah".. let me tell ya, i did not run an 03... and someone else is saying "well 96 mustang blah blah" and then other are talking about an 05....
jesus christ. people READ WHAT I SAID! i said 1995! there is a world of difference in a '95 and 03 and an 05.. a '95 has 215 hp, an 03 has 260, and an '05 has 300... APPLES AND F$%ing ORANGES...
now i have a list of the 1/4 mile times that these cars run. and all of them are low 15's.. what is so un beliveable about my car being in the 15's? big deal.. i never said it was fast.. i just said supprising for what it was

there is not a '95 gt stang on there but there is a '94 and '94 and '95 are the exact same.. and also the car on that site is a 5 speed i raced a turd auto..

I just reread the replies to your post 2 lines below this one and it looked like most everyone agreed with you-
i.e. that a '95 GT Mustang is NOT all that fast.

i was neck and neck with a cobra for a little while. He was pretty impressed, as were i. i had my bad tranny in there to (grinds hard at high rpms when trying to go into second.)

Ha!! I can tell you about Mustangs. My friend bought one recently, and before he told me he had bought it he said that he now has a car that can at least hang with my Z, if not beat it.
First weekend he had it he went and dragged it... best he could muster was a 15.1. Well he said that some time driving the car learning where to shift... blah blah blah... second time out drag racing it, 15.1 was his best. Now this is a 5.0, not sure of the year, but I would say late 80's. So he has to drop a second to beat my Z at stock boost, which I am of course, higher than that, so more than a second now.

I have a 95 5.0 5spd convertible. It is not that quick at all really. Last dyno I was playing with the ECU (the only real mod) it put down 192 rwhp & 296 ft/lbs. It also has a K&N in the stock housing. In S. Georgia I was able to run a 14.1 @98 mph. Thats my best, it's only been ran a couple times and it was on street tires just like the wife drives it everyday.
It will go fast it just doesn't get there quick enough to suit me. I've ran it up to 160 fairly easy.
I can easily see a turbo Z or ZX beating one, stock for stock a turbo ZX auto would run real close with one.
Oh the 94&95's have the same 225 hp motor as the 93's the intake is the only difference. The 95's have shorter runners for hood clearance, what happened is the Hp stayed about the same but TQ in lower rpm's dropped slightly. The main reason for the HP rating drop was that the 96's came out with the 4.6's which make less power all around until the latest models. Ford didn't want to hurt sales by saying the new 96 has less power than the 95's. I never lost to a 4.6 until 02' when they revamped the motor.
Chevy did this with the LS1 camaro's and vettes'. Some of the camaro's left the factory just as fast as the vettes' but for half the price. Of course the camaro is lacking in many other areas, but its' the same marketing cover up.
