There's a dealership in Loveland, CO thats been selling them for a while and I saw them at the Denver Auto Show. Almost choked after seeing the price. Have yet to see any on the road.

There are many of them already on the road up here in Canada. Contrary to what many say, they aren't that bad for performance. It is true that they look out of place on a highway, but they are suprisingly quick to get up to their speed (135 kph) and are not as much of a hinderance even on on-ramps.
I find that many hondas, suzukis, Geo metros, and most k-cars are slower than a smart car. I don't think anyone can give them a bad rep, when infact it should be the slow ass k-cars and ricers that should be off the road.
The only reason that anyone could possibly not like them (other than personal preference) is their size, or rather YOUR size, since it is only American fatasses that complain about it. If all you need is basic personal transportation then a smart car has everything covered.

The more "intact" the car looks after an impact like that, the more energy is transferred to the occupants. Ideally a car will crumple up in all the right places to avoid sending massive loads to the people's organs.

Just get a damn motorcycle. 50+mpg on the highway and 0-60 in sub 3 seconds. And you can pick up chicks, and it's cheaper, and it uses less raw materials. The only place I'd want one of those was in europe where parking and the city streets are just retarded.

They sort of didnt want to show the floorboard of the drivers side of the SMART car. The front wheel is where your legs would usually be. Plus that front glass didnt break due to the stiff frame as implied. My guess it is plastic, it flexed in that slow-mo replay. And didnt even break in the 5th gear crash and it wasnt even in the windshield frame afterwards. No glass could withstand that.

True but I wouldn't want to see what would happen in a 70mph crash head on into a barrier like in this video.
