one of my friend's dad just bought her a "race car" miata, with a reported $20k into the car
Her dad is also paying for the two $500 classes she needs to take to obtain her racing license.

well, as for the whole gf thing...been there done that....plus she's a real pain in the ass, the real annoying type.
but yeah, I'm interested in taking it for a spin (she can't drive so I have to chaffeur for a bit) which doesn't bother me.
it's the fact that she is able to throw money at something she MIGHT do once, and be so nonchalant about it just kind of gets under my skin.
I'm one of the kids that has had to pay for everything I own, and have had to work my ass off to do so, so when I see stuff like this just kinda pisses me off.

yea, haha I guess it doesn't look so bad. cville my parents "can" but they choose not too because they figure it's better for me to learn the value of the dollar then to have everything handed to me.
I think it was the initial jealousy that kinda got me ticked. but I guess I'll just have to go have a blast in it tomorrow, I'll let you guys know how it goes, maybe snap a few pictures.

If you are true to your word, and in fact are "ESLbeaner6" you would know that being from a different country/culture gives you a different outlook on the situation.
Thats why pretty much the entire planet dislikes America in general. They see the wastefulness and ignorance that makes everyday life in the USA tolerable. You may see rich people all over the world, but only in the USA will you see them constantly advertising themselves on TV, this has the effect of making people "want to be like them" even if it is out of reach for most people.
Skinny, beautiful, rich, etc. thats what they all want. It's only American to strive to be "better" than everyone else.
I just ignore all of that, because if I can get into a bar for a $10 cover charge and land a hotter chick than anything Silicone Valley can offer, I'm fine. And at a hockey game $60 gets you the same ticket as the millionaire oil business guys. As far as I see (where I live) there are only 2 classes, normal people and ricers, and everyone knows ricers are just modern court jesters (only there to make you laugh)

Once you go rich chicks you never go back. My ex had a 2.3 million dollar house and the girl i'm talkn to now has a 3600 sq feet lakehouse.
I used to let rich kids to get me. This dumbass kid, who's actually a good friend of mine, gets rediculous rides all the time. He has a 05 SL500 right now. Used to have M3, z06, Z3, etc. I ended up driving them as much as he did and I'm poor as dirt reppin 80k cars. Just take advantage everyone who deserves it gets their chance!

I know how you feel. My parents couldn't and can't help me with my expenses so I've worked for everything I own. I went to a brand new school which happened to be in the wealthier part of town and I happened to be zoned for it. I got to see the spoiled brats that have no money of their own but plenty of mommy's and daddy's. They flaunt it, no knowing the value of it. I could make the money they burn in a day last me a week. I understand the frustration. Because you have to watch someone waste what you could make usefull. It's entirely jealousy, I at least know that.
1972 240z w/L28, tokico shocks and springs, and a 5 speed waiting. Also running high performance ultra mega blinker fluid, that's at least an extra 50hp to the wheels.
