I think you already saw the best parts of the movie in the clip.
I don't understand a short that contains car stunts with a car that has rusted lower panels and simple driving techniques. While I think the scenes are filmed really well with great cinematography that doesn't make me want to sit through a half hour worth of it.
While I love the Z I also love chocolate. But I don't want to watch a half documentary of a dark Swiss chocolate bar going across the screen either.

from the looks of the trailer, it appears to contain no sex, love or z parts. The cinematography is interesting, but without a hint of story, characters, conflict or tension, it would leave me very dry.
(I'm obviously a zcar fanatic, but what the other 98% of the population that is not quite as enthused as us about these cars?)

forgot to mention this in the above post. The 280z in the movie is ok, but it's far from perfect. It looks like a well maintained original [daily driver]. it looks like it has some minor rust, dents, dings, faded paint, etc. Not jaw-dropping.

Hey.. this is Marcus.. I'm one of the guys that shot "Sex, Love & Z-Parts". I stumbled on this thread and thought that I would clear up some of the confusion.
It's my '77 280Z and it's a daily driver. I personally despise car movies where the picture car is totally cherry..that's unrealistic for a story about two guys who are working on their Z. I wanted it to look like a car that was being worked on... and since I am still working on my Z...we just shot it as is.
The trailer is just a compilation of the stunt footage. I never set out to assemble a video of turns and what not...it was actually a request from Freshalloy.com who said that if we assembled a trailer for them, they would host it on their site and paste a link to our page, but it never materialized...so we posted it on several sites to see if people liked the cut.
It's had a really positive response and we will definately shoot more Z videos (yes we will shoot selected cars.... but we know you like the look of the video...and that is film...so we have to fund raise...so give us a little time.
We shot this short so that we could raise money ( $2.5MM) to shoot the feature, so it appears to be a little thin in the story department...but if you pay attention it will tell you all the secrets of SLZ. It is a very trippy short that is non-linear.. so if you are a friend of altered states....this is definately a film for you.
Due to the unanimous response from this trailer..we have expanded the driving footage in the feature. So if you will be patient for about another 15 months... I promise you better driving..
ok.. but this is not a film just about a Z car. It's about two guys who doubled crossed a whole town with a fixed baseball game and get chased out of town....only the Z breaks down.
The short is their last day in the town and the feature is five years when they come back.
..ok enough about the film.
Thanx for the thread....I really tried to make the film appeal to Z owners...so you are well within your right to comment on it as you please...
BTW.. we are screening next weekend (July 28, 29, 30) in Long beach...we are organizing a Z car rally for the festival and if you show up with your Z.. you'll get a free copy of the film....
One last thing.. this film festival is smack in the middle of the largest martial arts expo in the country. So what could be more fun than Z cars and watching guys kick the **** out of each other?
