Who cares, they did not even bid on the car.
That is how ebay works, right?
A:
I for one being in Mpls know for fact "763" area code is right
north of Twin Cities, Minn. As always, no excess needed; buyer pays and arranges his own shipping AFTER the check has cleared your bank. You
are not respons. one bit for loading, shipping, transport damages, etc.
I guess scammers think they can exist here too....but it is a state-side no# so wouldn't hurt to press the issue or tell him to stick it. (But I'd block your call no# first so he won't have it on his caller ID other than "unknown" or "blocked" or use a calling card.)

A:
Yea why all the fuss if they dont even bid on it? Im surprised people even fall for that crap anymore.
A:
John, you haven't dumped the rest of that car, yet? Maybe you should have sold me that fender after all.

So obviousdly a scam when the person doesnt ask a single question about what you are selling and never even specificly mentions what you are selling.
When was the last time you bought a car and asked how to pay the "item".

I'm guessing that everyone who sells a car (or boat or motorcycle) on eBay gets these. Probably most other online sales areas (craigslist, auto trader, etc.) too. I know I've gotten several for each of the cars I've sold in the last 5-6 years or more. They're the pop-ups/spam of selling. Just ignore them. As has been shown time and time again, it is a waste of time to respond to any of them.

How many times does this have to be discussed? If they offer to pay more than the item is worth then it's a scam, plain and simple. If you bothered to read ebay's policy statement you would also see many tips which advise you on what to do and what not to do when selling/buying.

I highly suggest you do some homework before you get ripped off. At least once a week something like this is posted, research! Look at what other sellers are doing etc. Most of them, especially when it comes to large items like cars wont even sell it to someone with 0 feedback unless they put down an initial deposit and call up leaving all their details etc. Just be smart!

The funniest thing I've seen done to scammers, was one guy trying the typical bogus escrow service scam on ebay. The scammer was trying to buy a laptop from ebay, knowing something was suspect with this buyer the seller was real smart about it. He basically made a fake laptop out of cardboard, stuck keys to it and used a marker to draw a brand name on it etc, basically a total mock computer made out of junk. He then shipped it to the scammer with the declared value of $3,000. Service fees and taxes etc on such a large amount shipped is required to be paid by the person who picks it up. Anyway, long story short the scammer basically ended up paying $500 for a fake cardboard computer. Totally owned!
