hey guys, im thinking about maybe being a mechanic in the army, working on HMMWV's and such. do any of you out there have or have had this job? are there any experiences you would like to share? any suggestions?

Good luck, I'm in the Air Force myself and have a few friends that are vehicle maintenance (mechanic). They stay pretty busy since they don't just take care of one specific vehicle, so you might want to look into that, because i doubt you'll get assigned to one specific vehicle.

Join the Navy, you get a better chance of working on vehicle, boat or plane. By the way, we got more planes than the Airforce : )

Can you CHOOSE what you want to do? I thought the military TOLD you what to do.

The Navy doesn't have nearly the number of planes the Air Force has. We have over 1,500 trainers alone.
