A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I have a 73 240 shell I'm trying to decide what to do with it. Currently it is stripped so that I could find all the rust and decide to rebuild or not.
I knew it needed floor pans, the front rails look very good. The rust started under the battery tray and from there down it has rusted bad enough to separte the frame rail from the floor pan. I have cut this side out from firewall to the rear seat belt area. The drivers side needs the floor pan but the rail is in much better shape were it meets the pan. The rear seems solid but has the usual rust in the rockers.
Yes it is a lot of work, but it's no more than any other pan/frame rail job. The car has not been wrecked, the chassis is very straight.
I'm wondering what this shell may be worth to someone? Or if someone in the Asheville area may want it. I may give it away. If someone wants to make a drag car this is a great start.

apw,
Were you one of those heathens that skipped their geography classes in elementary, middle and high school? Are you from this country?
God must love stupid people, he made SOOOOO many of them!

Thanks for the answer Matt. I'm sure Asheville is a great place. As for mike240 why would I know or care, were Asheville is. It’s a town with a pop of 68,000. Not what I would consider as a major place in geography. Maybe in your little hillbilly world it’s the biggest place you've been to. I live and grew up on the west coast. I’ve been through North Carolina twice in my life and don’t remember Asheville. If discussing small minded and uneducated people is your thing. How about the pricks that like to belittle and poke fun at people they think they are superior to. You don’t know me so FU.

I'm not trying to jack thread but I'm in the same boat. I'll be interested to see some input as what people say.
Here in the middle of IA I'm sure no one wants to come and get it much less pay for it.
I'll prolly do the evilinside thing with the sawzall if no one speaks up.

Well if no one wants it I'll store it and eventually run my own frame rails and pans. I was planning on making it a fun car not a restoration of any kind.
I just have too many projects and not enough time or room.

That's the plan, I already have the mig, I used to weld but it's been years so I would like to go back to class. I have a friend taking the classes now, he's learning a lot.
With this one it's just more a matter of space and time, I hate to see it sit.

Wish I could afford the 6 hour roundtrip to get it! Sounds like exactly what I've been looking for too. Damn! So close, yet so far.
