Q:
Where have I heard of someone using Sugar Beets before?
REIMS, FRANCE -- Tereos, a French company specializing in the conversion of sugar beets into sugar, has purchased an Ingersoll Rand compressed air system for its new bio-fuel production plant in Reims, which is northeast of Paris. Recent significant increases in energy costs are pushing French industries to look for alternative energy solutions, and bio-fuel is one of the paths being chosen to eventually replace fossil fuels.
As part of the deal, Ingersoll Rand will supply three air compressors, chemical absorption driers and a remote control system for the plant, which will soon start converting sugar beets into bio-fuel to provide a less-expensive alternative to more costly fossil fuels.
Representatives in France worked closely with Tereos employees to design the best solution to supply high quality compressed air for the plant's processes and instrumentation.
"This agreement represents a new application for Ingersoll Rand equipment with long-term benefits," said Etienne Hureaux, sales manager France, Air Solutions. "Tereos, a new customer with large expansion projects in this area in coming years, chose to totally rely on Ingersoll Rand for its compressed air needs."

The only newsworthy part to the article is the application of the compression machines.
Typically feedstock corn is used to create bio-ethanol, which is then blended to produce E85, a fuel that already has distribution throughout the US. They are just using beets instead of corn. You could use any veggie matter with sufficient energy biomass, including wheat, beets, or rye. (and yes, potatoes, the "true" vodka source, would also work fine)
Sugar beets have been used for some time to produce fuel ethanol, and there is at least one other company in France already doing it.
The real question is: is there a good conversion kit to E85 for the Z, and if not, when will we get one?
Edit: E85 has an octane over 100 points, so for turbo applications, it is amazing stuff.

the real question is why z32d00d felt compelled to spew his vomit hole in response...
As for sugar beets being used for some time, my point was that I was doing it in 1979, which I found ironic that the news felt this a story at all...
Then again, it is in France, what a 17 year old kid does during a summer in 1979 doesn't coun't I suppose....
Wonder why that guy is such a hater.
Sad, isn't it, really?
And you guys wonder "where I went"?
What a joke! What point or possible furthering of the discussion did his addendum make whatsoever?
I rest my case.

So in other words, you are upset that I confirmed what you failed to express about sugar beets (that they are prior art to that company). Then you expect, through some obscure post with a sine qua non reference to your past, everyone to know your history since birth.
That is the ultimate in ego. Do not assume that people know, or care about, your strange and bizarre childhood.
>And you guys wonder "where I went"?
Maybe you and your ego will stay there.
A:
No, the point was you're a self-absorbed nitpicker that doesn't add a singularly helpful comment to the discourse, but rather drags it down to a level where it's obvious that you have nothing better to do other than nitpick and criticize...
Other people got it, but you, sir, take special joy about non sequitr commentary in any post I happen to make.
Says something about you, I'm sure. Nothing good, that's for sure.
Even the use of "compression machines" (er...) is not news, I believe the sparger tubes used in fermentation pretty much dictate their usage, that was a side note to the issue at hand.
In any event, anything that is searchable on this forum, you self-absorbed jerk, is FAIR GAME for (sic) "a sine qua non reference"...
Such was the SUGAR BEET REFERENCE. As others easily observed, but which you, typically, did not...
