Pedal extensions

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I'm a short driver and in a few months I plan to get my Z on the road. But last time I sat in it, I could only hit the clutch with my toe. I pushed it up as far as I could. I need at least an inch or two more. I almost do the same thing with my Geo Storm and I have to put a pillow under my butt to boost me foreward and up a little bit. I'm 5"2'. Has anyone ever put pedal extensions on their Z or other car? Is this a good idea?

I knew a driver that did road courses with a 2" block of wood on his pedals. seemed to work fine, but they better be pretty secure or you might get stranded.

I believe a medical supply store would carry them. They might be a little pricey there. The wooden blocks sound great to me.

Hoov, how do you get enough pedal travel if you moved the pedals?
Anyone can drive a new car.

Simple blocks of wood held on with big hose clamps work for a friend of mine. A strip of rubber is glued on the front for traction.
Rusty but running.
Polish cell phone and two tubes of Aluma-seal.
And, now we are historic.

My only problem with real pedal extenders is that they're hugely expensive. I'd pay $20 but $75 or more? Crazy. And all I need is one, just for the clutch pedal. A block of wood might be an option, but it looks weird and I'd want to make it stable. And I'd like to make/get something so it can be removed (at least for my Geo) so another can drive without an extension in the way.
