i love junkyards

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

i went to the j/y to get a pass. side tail light assembly, and a pass. side headlight bucket (lost mine!) for my 280zx. But I brought most of my tools with me 'just in case'.
Well, once there I saw an '80 280zx 2+2, pretty complete except for shift knob missing. So after pulling my parts, I remembered that when I had disconnected the A/C lines to my evaporator core, they had stripped and I bent the pipe. So I figured, might as well pull the dashboard and get the evaporator. After about 30 min I got it and figured, might as well get the pipes and hoses in the engine compartment, too. So I moved the radiator out of the way and got all the pipes & hoses. Then I remembered that my condensor wasn't in great shape either, and this one looked good. I figured, why not? So I got the entire A/C assembly, minus the compressor and dryer.
I didn't really think I'd have enough money, so I was planning on having to put something back, but the guy told me $75 for everything, tail-light, headlight bucket, condensor, evaporator, and all the A/C pipes and hoses!! Woohoo!
Now just need to flush it all out, buy some more Freeze-12 and a dryer, and, hopefully I'll have some niiiice cold a/c for the Texas summer.

Had the same good experience at the local U-Pull-It.
Got a hood, front fenders, eye buckets, both doors, cowl, hood, inspection lids, front bumper, intake maifold, exhaust manifold, down pipe, wipers, and a bunch of smaller nick nacks from a 72 240Z for $200.00. The doors (glass and panels included) are close to mint condition and would have been worth $200 on there own. Felt like a kid in the candy store.
