Anyone need a slave? I'll do it for this car.

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

For those of you who aren't overly familiar with this car, I'll give you a couple things to help you realize what this car is truly made of.
Check out the weight [enzo is 3000lbs with hundreds of thousands of $$ of the most lightweigt and technologically advanced parts in the world] of this car, as well as the displacement of the engine. Very unique powerplant.
I'd probably be a personal slave for 3-4 years if they would give me this car, or even let me keep it in my garage.

Tis not ugly.
That is one raw supercar with paint super thin and green glue holding the interior together.

You wouldn't know character if 57 dump trucks full of it ran you over than proceeded to bury you in it.
That being said, it is not your typical ferrari, so I understand your confusion.

OK, I can't hold it in anymore:
This is the last supercar with Enzo's sweat and tears in it. The last car with the real Ferrari engraved into it.
V8 revving to nearly 8k rpms, pushed by twin turbochargers, on an unbelieveably efficient 3.0ltr engine producing nearly 500 horsepower, practically glued into a full carbon fiber chassis with no ac, no radio, no power steering, NO bull$hit. This is the REAL DEAL. You don't get anymore hardcore than a Ferrari F40. Just saying it out loud confirms that I must build an empire so I can experience the sounds this machine produces from close range. Private business, corporation.. may not be enough.. I'll have to construct an empire.

I do love F40's. They weren't the best looking cars, but for the raw supercar experience they were the thing. They weren't made to be comfortable or for inexperienced drivers. You could actually race that car and be in the right place. It would be nice to have one, although I don't know about being a slave to get it....

Slave is a harsh word with varying definitions, but 99.9% of people are at least a servant to someone else their entire lives, whether they understand that relationship or not.

How can one say that is "butt-ugly"???
That car looks pretty good to me.
Sad thing about Ferraris, and most supercars in general, is that it will spend most of its life sitting in the garage. What a waste.

For a mere $410,000 zlover57 has tacitly admitted he'd "go greek" eh?
Reminds me of a discussion in the Air Force one lunch period back in the 80's where someone asked if you would take it greek for $1,000,000.
Most said no, and then the conversation turned to "How much would it take?"....
Most said "no amount of money", but out of the blue, after taking a big drag on a cigarette, someone simply stated, "$17,000,000"
Everybody looked at him and said "What?" Like he was off on another planet, or was talking about something else altogether.
He reiterated: "I'd do it for $17,000,000. For $17,000,000 I'd let a guy do me up the - - - , hell yes!"
We all looked at him, kind of shocked, but also curious how exactly he came up with the figure of $17,000,000.
It was said it seemed like enough.
Five years later when he roatated off the island, he was known as "The $17,000,000 Man."
He retired recently, and a permutation of that name "17Mil" was used in his retirement speech by someone. Most didn't know WTF it referred to, but those who were there, and those that did know...well we all laughed.
Later, he voiced regrets about using that number in such a matter-of-fact way.
From this point let it be known "zlover57" is to be known as "4-Hundred Grand"---kinda like tat rapper fiddy cent. I mean, you KNOW that's how he got the name in the Hip Hop world, right? Same-O, Same-O!
LOL
"4-Hunnert-Grand!"
He he he he!
(Anybody forget or never see Alex Haley's "Roots"? Kizzy had no choice but to succumb to Master Moore's Amorous Advances. Such is the life of a slave! I'm sure we can find some rich sugardaddy in the Hollywood (West) hills to make your dream of F40 Ownership come true, 4-Hunnert! It probably won't hurt for more than a little while, and he will probably only want to use you for a short while---nobody lasts in that world very long...)

Er....
An antiquated Inline 6 Cylinder 2.8Ltr engine, running no turbochargers making 315 horsepower to the rear wheels at 8200+rpms in a 240Z that weighs 2400# isn't that far off, stick a turbo on it, and it'll make that kind of Horsepower. Chances are JeffP's car does already!
Though that bloated pig of a ZX isn't anywhere near 2400#...
But that engine isn't that impressive, especially in the modern day.

F40
Engine: 2.9 Litre, V8, Dual Turbo
Compression Ratio: 7.8:1
Max Power: 478 BHP @ 7000 rpm
0-60: 3.8 secs
Top speed: 201.3 MPH
Weight: 2425
Thing about most of these cars is that their chassy and suspension is leaps and bounds over other cars. Mid engine placement, yada yada yada... Also it produces 478bhp @ 7000rpm reliably on a 2.9L engine that a manufacture will warrenty. Plus its tranny isnt a 4spd that you will max out at 125mph. The cars after market potential is way over what one can do with a Chevy or Z. But I am sorta' disappointed in Ferraris new direction. Sure their great. But if you really want to drive it like their old F40, you will be ripping out a half a million dollars in computer gadgets and tech. I think the designers have been looking at to many BMW's.
Z's are great though. But it has a simply produced chassy like domestic cars, and it has more highly placed weight when compared to the super expensive sport cars. I mean I dont think there is one solid peice (sheet metal) of steel in that Ferrari. But you can still get alot of performance out of these cars.

I also read somewhere, in order to buy an Enzo you have to already own an F40 or F50 or something and even then you have to be tested etc before they'll let you buy it. Now that's what I call an exclusive car!

Anyone else notice it says that they just have about $23,000 in factory maintenance work? With such low mileage, what could they have possibly done? Seems suspicious.

Completely normal. Things such as gaskets must be replaced over time regardless of miles. 23k for all the work they did is actually very reasonable.

i say its undriveable because where in the world are you going to find another unregistered 300 mile F40, assuming the description is correct. That car will probably be in a cocoon its whole life. As a long term investment, you cant lose. Put ANY miles on it and watch it depreciate. In 50 years, assuming this car remains in the same condition its in today, it will probably be the most valuable "standard spec" F40 ever.
