I like to see the So-called Ringers come in to drive for the road courses. It forces the regular drivers to concentrate more on these courses because they don't want to be beaten by an outsider.
The problem for them is they are usually not working with a good pit team to make the adjustments to the car, needed to win.
What are your thoughts about Toyota coming next year?
I think Toyota takes a butt whoopin for a year or two. If they get a few decent drivers Toyota will dominate Nascar because toyota works together with all of their teams as one unit. They share every bit of info they get with all of there teams, they also invest money into making the teams better. The Nascar owners will be complaining from day one and will only get worse about it when they start winning, which they will.

That's what I like about NASCAR, there is always good, tight competition unlike F1 or CART where the leader laps the feild several times.

So true at least he has continuity with Frank Stoddard plus Roush equipment this year. I saw the improvement last year when he was driving for Centrix for a number of races. I liked it when in the Truck series he took rear only tires at the old sears point layout to win the truck race.
I have some old pics someplace from when he ran for Roush in Trans am years ago. Or was that Tom Gloy ? Was the Blue Mustang with no sponsor. He is a get it done type of guy. I should know he was my boss at one point. And a good one at that.
He hooked me up with NASCAR pit passes the year he ran the Federated auto parts car at the Glen. He qualified on the out side pole. He was hanging in second behind Jeff Gordon till the engine blew. What a TOUGH business!

Toyota learning curve... hardly, more like what personnel they can pull. Mikey Waltrip is not exactly the man. The equipment (meaning engine and aero) will be top notch, look for lots of penalties against toyota mechanicals after the first couple races next year. F1 aero experience is going to equal ridiculously awesome aero package but we all know the France family frowns upon ingenuity in design.
With the "car of tomorrow" (laughing to myself right now) coming, Toyota is going to woop on everybody, but it will be shortlived. Rulebook changes are going to be rampant next year.
'73 Turbo, not much stock. Sold now... :-(

Individual team aerodynamics won't differ a whole lot in the new NASCAR "unibody", where only the stickers will be different. Toyota won't dominate for long if they do at all.

Funny you should mention insults. Boris was like Louie from taxi over the PA at the dealership. His style was not all unlike Howard Stern’s. Notice the resemblance :)
