Conquests and Mitsubishi Starions (same car) are very fast little turbo cars from the 80's. To me they look like a small Chrysler Laser if you remember those. They're fun little car so long as they're well taken care of. Unfortunately most were not. Hard to find no and expensive when you do.

My friend had one for about 4 yrs. Unfotunatly, he only drove it for about 2.5 of those. I think he blew about 4 or 5 head gaskets one summer, I know he went through 2 heads, a turbo, and a exhaust manifold. He had to boost it to 21 psi to beat my z at 9 psi.
He started to restore it, we had all the body work done, all the bottom end parts... and then I think he lost intrest, ended up just selling it all off.
They are beautiful cars and fun while they are running right. There is alot of stuff on there that cause alot of problems like the jet valves, and the fact that it ony has 2 injectors. A primary and then one that turned on in boost. Intake manifold has unequal intake runners, the outer 2 run really lean and the ringlands tend to break causing oil to burn and fould plugs. Then you need to put those plug extenders on so it'll run right again.
But there are plenty of upgrade parts to fix all this, so if you have a huge budget, get one.

My cousin has one(actually two, he fliped the other one LOL) the thing is a beast. he has got the engine rebuilt and got new pistons for 1000 bucks all together, he hasnt put it back into his car yet, he needs more money to finish it, I guess but its a awesome car. he hasnt blown anything yet I think. the car handles really good, he fliped it by 2 wheels going off the road then I dont know, I wasnt there.

Sounds like a good body for a motor swap. I do like how they look.

Incredibly good seats in the cars. Got a set from an 89 I think and love them.

1983 280ZX Turbo. Hopeless rust case. The more I fixed, the more I found.

A little clunky on design, but those have always intrigued me.

I almost got into them. They have some very interesting problems mechanically. They don't really have head gasket issues. The head warps in different ways and the oil passage lines run close to the surface on the intake ports. A small crack forms and is ONLY visible after full warm up. Check the forums... It's a typical failure in the 2.6L G54B. It's very hard for a machinist to find much less repair.

Problem solved:) Thats a 4G63 from a DSM, from what I've read with the right parts it's almost a bolt in.

Emanszs;
I might be interested in the Conquest, how much? And where are you located? Does it run and drive or do I have to trailer it?
Email me at wmmaske@yahoo.com.
