A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I was wondering if anyone has used any of these websites to find / buy a car. Some look like they have fraud written all over it. If someone has used one, which one and what was your overall impression?

wondered that myself as I was near the DMV testing facility near
home and the building next door must be a govt building because they
must've had about 15-20 Chevy K5 Blazers all in camoflage...
...they all looked solid but glass missing in a few...auction dates were
already past.

Just know what you are doing before you get $$ into it. Many come in expecting a magical business. I'll put it this way, 99.9% of the cars the auction regulars buy they would NOT want to drive or maintain themselves. I can guarantee you 1/2 the cars you see on used car lots are from auctions though.

government fleet auctions, and wholesaler's auctions are 2 extremely different things.
hell, i'd say 90% of cars on used car lots are from auctions,,,,just not government auctions. wholesaler auctions require a license, and most cars are crap they couldn't sell at one lot,,,,moving through the auction to another lot.
government fleet vehicles on the other hand, have regular scheduled maintenance, and usually just high mileage, although the police package on the crown vic's hold up well. heavy duty cooling, brakes, suspension,,,,
some even still carry some of the manufacturer's warranty. GSA has a bunch of alero's they are selling near me with quite a bit of mileage still remaining on the warranty. a couple of vehicles ready to run propane/gasoline.

Yeah, I saw that one police packed Vic. But I wouldnt get a Vic, I would look for the police packaged Caprices. Many of those had the Vette motor, and you can find many upgrades for them (because of the 90's Impalas). Though the Vic was a cheap find, just wouldnd go out of my way for it. my 2cents.
