A&Q about 350Z
Q:
ok so this may be lame but it is the closest to raceing i have come since i bought my 83 turbo
i was sitting at a light behind a ferrari 348 spider (one lane no passing)and hoping he saw me in his rearview i flored it when the light went green
well i was in luck because i heard hig pipes roar and from 0-50 (where we slowed down) he was a steady 5 feet from my bumper
he did not leave me behind like he thought he would
not bad for a stock turbo from 83
i would assume he did not give it all it had but he thought he was giving it enough haha
well i had fun anyway

5ft huh? good thing he didnt decide to slam on the brakes. Ever think he might have just gone fast enough so that you didnt run into the back of him?

Damn good thing he did not want to trade up that day. Is your insurance paid up to the point of buying Ferrari cars?
A:
Nice job, dont worry about these guys, theres more than one in every crowd. A while back I did the same thing with a 911 turbo. We were on a single lane road that opened up to a doulbe lane divided hiway. There were some cars in front of me and he was right behind me. He got the jump on me as the road opened up to two lanes and he went by on the left. I was already downshifting to do the same thing so I pulled out right behind him and stayed glued to his bumper up to 120. The look on his face in his rearview was priceless, it was a look of desparation and inadequacy.

I had the pleasure of taking out my buddy's 911 for a day last week. It was funny to see every joker from the boy-racers in a jetta to losers in a Daewoo trying to race me at every stop light. Sorry to break the news to you guys but I wasn't about to burn up the clutch or waste my time showing you that the porsche was faster. Really I'm glad your 280zx turbo kept up for 500 ft but this wasn't racing. In your mind he was but in reality he could care less that you were there. At the next light someone else was there to show their car off and how it could smoke a Ferrari. After that day in the 911, I realized that the a-holes aren't always the ones driving the porsche it's the guys that insist on racing them.

Just one day in a Porsche and you know how all Posche owners think and drive. WOW ...impressive. I too have driven a 911 and appreciate it for being the outstanding automobile that it is. I fully understand that from 120 on up my car isnt even in the same class. Most people that try to race a porsche arent trying to beat them as much as they just want to see one in action. I on the other hand enjoy spanking them every oportunity I get. By the way, I wasnt incinuating that my car was in the same class beloww 120 either only that it was just as quik.

There I was, racing the space shuttle on liftoff — and beating it, of course — when this alien mothership pulls up. Guy inside is giving me one of these 'let's see what you got' nods of his head (or what I thought were nods since he didn't exactly have a "head" as we know it), so I shifted into third at about Mach 8 and we took off. I blew the guy away, thus avoiding alien invasion and the end of life on earth as we know it. I don't know how fast I was going, though, because once I passed the speed of light all my instruments (and lights) stopped working.
This is in a stock 280Z with worn tires and a little shimmy around 15,000 mph.

man mach 8 on a 280z? DAMN!!! You must have some serious aero mods. What kind of motor are you running? Is it one of those WTF45,000 motors? I hear those are sick!!!

Enough **** little boys, This monster is dynamite in a tin can from 40 to 155. Starts at forty because nobody can keep it out of the ditch from a jump. My bud has a plane and simple boxter and there is no way on gods green earth that I could believe any of you could hang with him. After this peters out he walks.
Talk the talk then do the walk. Post pics here….
edit: No a Miata can not do a 90 @ 70 but a Porsche can.
