Ok, so I own a 2001 Dodge Cummins 2500 Ram Diesal. I have owned and driven the truck nealy every day for 4 months. It has performed perfectly for that duration of time. Well last night I went out to start it and leave the shop, and I open the door with a single key, like Ive done for months, then an alarm started going off. It wasnt a siren alarm, but rather one that is linked to the relays of the horn and headlights. I tried disconnecting the batterys for different durations at a time, and its a no fix. Tried pulling all fuses individually and a couple stop the alarm, but they also kill other needed components. It must kill the injector pump for the reason that it will start for a couple seconds then die. Does anyone have a clue on what I can do to dissable this alarm? It appears to be a factory installed unit, as I cant find any aftermarket box anywhere. Ive traced lots of wires, and found nothing. Any help anyone? I dont want to take it to a dealer if not needed. Thanks.

Just a thought, but it sounds like a door lock barrel switch might have failed, you unlock the vehicle with the key and the arm/disarm switch operated by the motion of the barrel turning is broken, have you tried unlocking the vehicle on the passenger side or it might be worth removing the door panel/trim to check the switch operation

I had a 2002 2500 Dodge Ram Diesel. I think you have to use the key to lock and unlock the door, and then turn on the ignition. Look in your owner's manual for the procedure to disarm the alarm. You could also go to the Dodge dealer with your vin# and some proof of ownership to have the parts dept run your vin. They should be able to tell you about the alarm and get a remote for it.
