tires

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Has anyone bought Yokahoma es100 tires or Falcon ze512 tires?
I'm thinking of getting them in 225/50/15 for my 77 280Z to be mounted on 15x8" wheels w/ a zero offset.
I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with either tire or had any other suggestions for what a good tire in that size would be.
I have some Mich. Pilots on my 76 280 and they are ok, not bad not great. I want to try something else this time. I don't need all season tires, neither Z will ever see snow or mud.
I used to have some pirelli's they were great tires, but I can't find any in that size.
Thanks

I have the Falkens ZE 512s on my 71 Z's two sets of wheels: (205/60/14) and (215/60/15) and my 01 Sentra SE (205/50/16).
They have proven to be excellent tires as far as I'm concerned. Great in the rain too. I will be buying a set for my wife's car soon. For the $, a great tire and value.
www.discounttire.com seems to have the best pricing, although I bought mine locally for a couple dollars more than the website price, so you might want to call around.
I have 2 friends that had the ES100s- they liked them but they wore quickly. The Falkens seem to wear better.

Have a look at BF Goodrich G-Force Sport tires in 225/50/15. They're more expensive than the Falkens, but they also are grippier. Probably not as expensive as the Pilots, too.

I have had both. I love the Falkin's which are on my car now and liked the Es100's - they are sticky and wear accordingly.
Falkin's also have the perfect 225/50/16 that fits the NA rim exactly with great rim protection.

I just put the ES100's on my 300zx and like them. Very good cornering and the road noise that I read in reviews is barely audible. I did read that they wear out fast so take that into account. For my 300zx it doesn't matter as it barely sees 2k miles a year.

I ordered the Falkens, Sounds like they should be great tires. They should arrive on tues. about the same time the new wheels get here. I got them from Discount tire 64.00 each and free shipping. Seems like a pretty great price w/ free shipping.
I'm looking forward to driving on them next tues. I'll report how I like them later in the week after I put a few miles on them.
Thanks everyone for your input.
