A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I have an idea for some Mikuni Phh 50's that I want to install on a vintage car (non-z), But I cant put anything on the car that came out after the 60's, so just curious when the PHH carbs were offered to the public?
Lots of Z cars, 1970's-1983's.

Looks like you need Solex for pre 1970 era:

Mikuni PHH
Mikuni bought the Solex PHH license in the early 1970s and thoroughly redesigned it since then. The only parts in common between these two carbs is the diaphragm accelerator pump arrangement. The Mikuni now resembles a cross between a Weber DCOE and a Solex. They are the "set and forget" sidedrafts. Their flow rates aren't quite as high as the Webers, which is why they're not favored by racers, and jet availability is not as good. (Mikuni North America is the primary jet supplier). reference: bimmers.com

I do not know the direct answer. But this place might be able to help you or point you in the right direction. I used to buy lots of motorcycle application Mikuni parts from them years ago. They used to have the best catalog - all the optional needle tapers charted etc.

BULLSH-T!
I call BULLSH-T!
More internet misinformation!
The ONLY reason for Webers being preferred is that they have more ADJUSTMENTS you can make.
Adjustments which, due to the Mikuini/Solex design, are totally unrequired in 99.9999999% of all vehicles.
PHH Solexes were OEM on millions of vehicles over the years, Weber DCOE's on the other hand were used only a fraction of the time, and usually got a reputation for being 1) Finikey, due to the adjustability
and
2) getting poor fuel economy, unlike the Solexes which return astounding fuel economy---on par with the stock SU's if not BETTER!
50 Solexes were available from the late 60's to the present day.
Look to Japan.
