A&Q about 350Z
Q:
So I was taking the Vette home tonight and the lights slowly dimmed and the battery eventually died on me. A few days ago, I charged it, and let it sit overnight. I then tested it in the morning, and the tester was rating it as a 325 CCA battery. The problem with that is that it is a 525 CCA battery; but I digress.
This is the second time it has died. The first time the battery died, I only took the car around the house once and it wouldn't start again.
Tonight, I had to jump it twice to get it back.
Think it's the battery, or the alternator? I guess it could be either one but i'm looking for some peace of mind, haha. Probably won't find that here ;).

Sounds like the alternator isn't charging. What voltage do you read when the car is off, what about when it is running? Did it start in the morning or did you have to jump it? Have you ever been able to start it off the battery without jumping it?

if it died on you while you were driving, its the alternator.
If all were equal, none would be strong.

I agree with the alternator view but I also would add for consideration that it could be and probably is both the alt. and the battery.

Yeah it's the alternator
when you rdriving the car isn't running off the battery the alternator is charging the battery and running the car.

still doesn't sound right. I'd have them check the alternator too. I have had this happen several times and even if i had to replace the battery i still had to replace the alternator.

"Usually it's either one or the other. It just takes one of these things to "end the party!" Just like a circuit, or T.V. needs only one thing to go bad to make it usless. Time will tell if he also needs an alternator. Norm K.
