Unfortunately, most the P2P applications nowadays are sponsored by Adware and Spyware applications that are not optional on installation.
I dont use any of them now because of this and stick to torrents. Agree, there was some cool old stuff on P2P, but you can probably find most of it on the best torrent sites.

I don't mind the Adware and Spyware stuff really, I can normally find a crack to lose them.......... Edonkey was great for rare stuff, slow but you could always find what you wanted!

Is LimeWire any good? Just reading about it and it gets mixed reviews, some saying it's dodgy...

It is dodgy!!! Unless you dont mind the first 1000 downloads you see to be gay porn when you search for ANYTHING!

i've rarely downloaded anything that wasn't what it was labelled as... and no, i'm not actually downloading gay porn
you get the occasional advert for a site or something... but for the 2 secs it took to download i can live with that

Ive had loads of virus's through it.. and no neither am i downloading gay porn.
It seems to be after searching and searching you find the file you want, d/l it, and soon as it hits in norton tells me its just detected and deleted a virus.
I suppose on the upside, its putting my £25 on norton to good use

I tried it before, but it semed very limited in terms of the number of files etc....... maybe it's got better since the rest of them died! And it always seemed to be single tracks mainly, not albums or video stuff you couldn't find elsewhere.......
Downloading Emule now, I thought it had been killed with Edonkey!

I use emule plus, always have. Can get all sorts on there.

I still use emule and I have a lot of success out of it. Also, following suggestions from Deako before now, I've started to use torrents.

I use Utorrent 1.6 & it's a great program & not to heavy on the processor.
