PS3 release put back!

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Around or just over £100 for the Wii apparently. And a full catalogue of nes, snes, gb, n64, gc? games to download.
A:

According to those 'honest' people at the Mirror, the PS3 won't be out until next year now! Another problem with the blu-ray widget! My mates put a deposit down at play.com aswell - he's gutted!
A:

I did mention that about 6 posts back mate. March 2007 is the date, but im guessing on an October release.
A:

Any idea when the Wii is due for release in the UK?
A:

November IIRC.
A:

In this months EDGE mag they mention that a lot of 3rd party's are jumping on the wii as they cannot see themselves making any money for the 1st year with the PS3 as it has put itself out of the market with such a high price tag.
A:

cool, been playing zelda windwaker today.
Can't wait for the new mario and zelda
A:

You either like Zelda or you dont, and I dont. Similarly, entertainment wise Mario had/has quite a short shelf life but Zelda simply never appealed to me at all. As far as the Wii is concerned, perhaps I'm old fashioned (actually I am) but I dont want to be leaping around my living room like a pillock just to play a computer game ...

did you ever play zelda: ocarina of time on the N64? that game is one of the most memorable games i've ever played tbh.
A:

It was awesome wasnt it. Twilight princess goes back to that style of play. Should be immense.

I've tried various versions of Zelda, but they dont do anything for me. Its a combination of the RPG/Fantasy element (not my cuppa) and the cutesy/typically Nintendo front end. Its horses for courses though isnt it ? I loved (for example) Operation Flashpoint ... I'm betting quite a lot of people didnt. I'm not saying Zelda is bad, because it isnt. Its just not my sort of thing and thats the case with a lot of Nintendo offerings. The only decent game I played on the N64 was Golden Eye. Game catalogue wise my SNES was quite good but it still had less use than my Megadrive ...
A:

The new one on the DS looks nice.

I had a play on a DS recently, not overly impressed.

(dipped in)
That was a brilliant game - utterley immersing, you could spend hours/days on that. Anything sandbox style is amazing.
(dipped out)
A:

i want Crysis tbh

what did you play?
My mum has:
brain academy
animal crossing
under the knife
nintendogs
all are good fun in their own way.

That's part of the fun though... jumping around like having an epileptic fit.
A:

they have shown the wii & the ps3 being played by the presenters in the uk on the gadget show over the last two weeks with special permission from the makers as they loaned them & both look amazing in their own way.
wii looks like great fun & the ps3 gfx's look staggering.
A:

ps3's out in a week or 2 insnt it in japan and the states, whos buying an american one if they'll send to the uk?!
i'm gonna try and have a bash, should even work out cheaper than the uk price with exchange rate, i dont think they charge import duty on computers and consoles, only the vat......
although i did hear that sony will sue anyone in states and japan selling to other countries, so might be tricky....
A:

Is it 100% that it isn't region locked or something stupid?
A:

apparently so..................
A:

expect some silly prices then i suppose
A:

The games will play on any PS3, but you will be region locked on Blueray movies, so would have to import US ones only.
A:

sony already announced that blu-ray is only a stop gap & will be out dated as they intend on supplying games in another format within the next few years probably downloaded.
A:

i heard blu ray was meant to be region free as well.....
