A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Anyone interested in a calendar of track days for 07, there are loads of track days with a few dubs attending so what about posting up possible dates and circuits so we can get a bit of a VAG circuit tour going. The more advance notice of possible dates and circuits then the more time people have to prepare and attend.
I think Croft is going to be a big date for next year especially between the VW’s and Seat boys, not one to miss. Also it may prepare people in advance for Curb so to boost the attendance figures.
If you’r interested I’ll add the possible dates and tracks to the first post and the names of the provisional attendees.
I know 07 seems a long way off but it gives some of us (me, Chris x 2, Phatty, GVK, Barny?? etc…etc) time to get your fingers out and build something
************************************************** ***
as well as the date and circuit I will post up contact details on who to contact to book each track day (+ possibly a link to any other relevant threads), please post up (or PM me) as much info as possible and I’ll add it to the calendar
Useful links
for Brands, Oulton, Snetterton & Cadwell
If you’ve booked one of the days listed below or even a track day that isn’t listed then please PM me so I can add the track day and your name to the attendees

I've been making things more manageable in order to see the end of the project, but it still needs a lot of man hours putting in, and I dont have enough of them - need a lotto win so that I can give up on the day job!
A:
Need a working car before organising anything else
Combe was good fun on Saturday, it's always a good day when you know a few folk there for the banter, the days we (iguana, ian and myself) have done last winter had very little dub content. Even after posting up details where possible.
As I've said before, many threads about car prep etc but when it comes to doing the days, very little interest.. shame.
A:
Yours will be easy to get on the road again once the bits are sorted G, have no fear.
I actually have a car that I am prepared to take around the track now, but there doesnt seem to be anything going on that I can see, though I havent looked a lot I know

Shall we give in now then????? Or give it a go?
worth a try i think. I must say that sometimes people do post up only a few days before an event, some of us have to plan our time, it’s not always possible to drop everything an attend at a moments notice
+One thread about loads of days Vs loads of threads scattered about may help as a quick guide to who’s doing what and when
A:
Cracking idea Daz - let's but the buzz back into a full season again.
Clearly we have a number of dates straight away: Autometrix + CGTI dates. Add in a selection of others: Donny, Cadwell, and we're getting there. Dodge August, for hols, slot in the 'Ring date as a push boat-out option.
Sorted.
I've had a tip on a Scoobyzone day at Blyton tip off BTW from Jon C (Cass)

good idea. should have the mk1 up and running in the near future and be ready for some sessions next year. although this is somewhat dependant on the job situation (move to manchester or take redundancy!)
also meant to say you guys should consider some trips over the border. Kames, Knockhill and East Fortune are as good a test as you'll find anywhere.
A:
Sounds like a pretty good idea to me too.
I'm sure I'll be attending at least one or two track days in 2007. Just kinda depends on which car will be around then though......
A:
Worth a try, as GVK says- always seems minimal interest on here for proper days when we've stuck them up, seems many would rather battle with the chavs on action days, not really my bag tho & lots of chat & not much action from many others.
Only slight issue maybe GVK, Finch & I do a lot of open pit days & they not really ideal for the less experienced trackers
Posibly Im wrong about the autometrix type days tho, but I just have a pathalogical hatred of the type of drivers a day that you can pay & just do a session attracts.
I'll shove up next ones im doing anyway tho 07 is waaaaaay to early now, am planning do Oulton & Donny this yr anyway, so come on blofelt pull ya finger out its been months.......

Autometrix day wasn't a pay as you go as such, you had to buy either a morning or pm session or full day, we had six tickets to use (15 min sessions) but Mr. Porter was either eating cakes or talking instead of taking tickets...so could've had many more sessions, this format was done to reduce queuing of previous yrs.
I'd say on the whole the Combe day had mostly sensible drivers, a few newbies and a few pillocks who didn't check mirrors often enough, but then most track days are like that anyways.
I know I know, itching to get the mk2 out on track, not used it properly since February.
A:
Damn good idea. I was gutted that none of the track regulars on here other than Daz did donnington when I ran the Corrado, and no one I really knew was out on track at Croft either.
A:
i will try and make the effort meet up with you guys , on the next one , just post us a reminder , managed 4 trackdays this year so far and ring in october , strugling to keep up with tyres thou , paul

OI !! I may be down, but i'm not out ! You'll have noticed that i did actually go to Cadwell on monday ( no offence G ) and had a bloody good time too.
The mind, body and soul is still willing and wanting for trackdays.
Shell and i were chatting on the way back about getting the 20v mk1 up and running, the budget we appear to need is £1100 tho ?! She's said no more trackdays this year , we've got one more wedding to get out the way and a few garden projects and to flog the lhasa green mk1 then we can get the 20v mk1 project going for hopefully next year . Its gonna be a battle of wills tho, as the plan is to share the car, so i doubt i'll be able to do what i want with it. Ledas,carbon,kevlar.........
Need to sort a new tow car out (sold the range rover) and to get/borrow a smaller lighter trailer - shells dads one is just too big and heavy!
Fingers crossed hey ...

If I can help with any bits you need then just ask
A:
As Nick said we'd definately be up for atleast a couple next year. Me + Mrs are house hunting at the mo though so car things may get delayed a little at the start of the year...
Fingers crossed though... After Cadwell on Monday I got the bug bad - it's been a while since we've done a proper trackday :)
A:
I'm totally up for arranging a VAG only day at Knockhill, would need at least 30 cars to do it though, and so far I think only one other Club GTI guy has come to one this year!
If anyone wants a trip up north to take in our track then let me know.
I'll defo be travelling down to do some England circuits next year, as well as Spa and the Ring again...
Brunty
A:
Well i hope to join you guys at the ring next year, bit of a bugger living in jersey. Works out much cheaper to do my track days in france!
A:
Yay for knockhill... at 430 miles away it's practically next door! :)
A:
This sound very interesting and just what im looking for next year, Jan/Feb could prove a little hazardous with the cold and the weather however from March I would be more than happy to attend.
A:
I'm going to organise a Donnington or Oulton Park day in October/November time...probably a Trackzone day as they are reasonably cheap.
Quite a few GTI enthusiasts from the South West have already expressed interest in a meet at one of the above locations....date TBA

Oulton's a top track - just make sure is the longest version !
A:
i think easy track have an openpitlane day at Oulton in november for about £110 at the mo. It will go up as the date gets closer thou.
Agree with barny that it's a top track too.
A:
Im going to oulton in november, the more the merrier.
