Best tyres for a MKS GTi?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best tyres to fit to a MK3 GTi?
Its had Continental EcoSposrt on for a while and I found these a better grip and harder compound than Pirellis which shred quickly.
However I now need a new set of four so any thoughts ?
A:

Pirelli P9000 Sport, Eagle F1s, Toyo Proxies T1-Rs.
A:

Toyos are always a decent and good value for money tyre to have. Do wear quite quick though!
A:

,make your own opinion as to what you require from a tyre.
A:

Hmm, The Continentals come out quite well on the Tyre Test site.
A:

i have just had 2 conti sports put on my mk5 , they are ok but the bridgestones that were on before (re50) were better !
A:

Anyone tried the Michelin's? I got about 25k out of the Conti's. Not bad and reasonably firm.
A:

goodyear eagle f1s all the way. toyo's might aswell be made of plastic when driving in the wet. a friend of mine had brand new toyos put on his 54 plate sti and it went side ways round any turn that was tight at any more then 35mph even in the dry.
we now know them as toyo ditch finders
A:

I've got Goodyear Eagle F1s on my Mk2 16v
I imagine they may cost and arm and a couple of legs for bigguns that you'd need for Mk5
I'm lead to believe that Toyo Proxies T1s are essentially a budget version of them, but don't quote me on that ;)
