A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I have a mk1 golf 1.6gti rallycross car.
How much camber should i be running? Im running max neg camber at the mo
which is around 1deg. After the first race i measured the tyre temp on front left.
outside of tyre was 42degC, middle 42degC and inside 38degC.
All corners but 1 are right hand.
in my understanding u want the tyre temp even all the way across the tyre for best grip.
So should i try and put a bit more neg camber on till i get the tyre temp even.
I will have to elongate the holes on the shock to allow this.
Would this be correct.
Do i need to have the camber even on both sides?
Also, is there any advantage of putting a bit of neg camber on the back??
A:
Bit more on the front would be a good idea, i run about 2deg neg depending on tyres.
Measure the temp of the rears too and see how they compare, i run 2deg neg on the rear now too, it was 1deg neg as standard on mine and i shimmed it with one hacksaw blade to get the extra. Not used a pyrometer thou only done by feel. Mine is a tarmac circuit only trackcar not sure what tyres or how much of a compromise your setup would be doing rallycross.
A:
We use a yokahama A043 cut slick for stockhatch.
I must buy a camber guage.
Handier than bringing the car to a garage the whole time.
