Avon ZZ3 tyres - bad tramlining

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Does anyone with Avon ZZ3's suffer from really bad tramlining?
I have a pair of 3 month old ZZ3s and a pair of Pirelli P6000's which have about 2mm of tread and need replacing.
I'm running 205/40/17s, and find the car is awful to drive when the Avons are on the front, it pulls all over the road in both left and right directions. With the Pirelli's on the front, it is harsher, i.e. more road noise, and the steering is heavier, but drives far better in a straight line, and is much more responsive to steering input, even in the wet.
My car is polybushed all round and had new rear beam bushes last year. The geometry is fine, the tyres wear very evenly, so I'm sure that's not the issue. There is no play in the steering - the smallest input on the steering wheel with the car stationary is transfered to both front wheels.

I've not found them to be like that but I'm running 195x14" ones so not exactly the same. Do you use a lot of toe out, camber or castor?
A:

What wheels are the tyres on?

It could be the wheels rather that the tyres.

It may however be a duff one or two tyres, feel round the tread and see if it feels lifted or the thread bolcks seem higher on one corner.

I'm running standard settings for geometry, the tyres are in perfect condition too, but I will have a close look tomorrow.
They are on Azev H wheels, which I've owned from brand new, so I know they've not taken a beating!
I'm going to have a good look underneath it tomorrow, to see if I can find anything wrong suspension/steering wise, plus I'm going to put the old worn Pirelli's back on the front and see how that effects it.
I'm sure it is the tyres, but find it hard to believe that tyres from a reputable manufacturer would have such a dramatic effect.

I've run Avon ZZ3's for a while now on my mk4 and I think they're a brilliant tyre. I've also run P6000 on my mk2 when I first got it. They were absolute ****e and got replaced within 3 weeks.
So I doubt its the tyres thats causing the tramlining unless ones got a manufacturing error.

They appear to be in perfect condition, I'm experimenting with different pressures to see if I can make them any better. On an even flat road, they are ok, but the slightest camber change see's the steering pulling left and right, it's damn hard work to drive because I'm constantly having to react to it.
Having swapped the wheels front to back several times, I've found they require at least another 20 degrees of steering lock to take a typical 90 degree bend than when the P7000s are on the front.
The steering is also very light in a straight ahead postion. I've reduced the pressure by 3 psi compared to what I normaly run on the front, which has weighted the steering up a little and but it still tramlines.
I want to replace the P7000's over the next week or two before they hit the wear limits, and did want to by more ZZ3s so I have a matching set of 4, but unless I can get to the bottom of this, I think I'll be keeping well away from them.
I have considered whether they have manufacturing defects, but it's going to be a very difficult thing to prove.
