A&Q about 350Z
Q:
seen this on ebay....no real description of who makes the kit
anyone know of it at all? seems a bit on the cheap side
A:
If the vendor can't name it, it can't be any good.

thats what i thought, dodgy
A:
I'd rather have a named brand personally, but if it's genuinly TUV approved it can't be that bad...
A:
i have mailed the guy to ask what is the make of the kit, be interesting to see what he says
A:
Vmaxx - aka FK aka Jamex
I run a set of these on MrsB Lupo... and so far so good. Cheap as chips for a coilover kit.
better ride than bilstein/eibach setup I had on there previously.
Been on the 3+ months and alls well so far
A:
excellent thanks Bill, as i am looking to upgrade my current setup
i will be running 17's so is the ride firm enough taking into account the drop so that no rubbing will take place?
A:
hmmm. looks ok but stuff thats cheap tends to be cheap for a reason. Off the back of a lorry or dodgy quality.
Maybe it would be ok if you just want to have adjustable ride height rather than using it for aggressive driving.
What do I know, maybe we are all mugs who buy for the brand?

Ive heard they are very harsh with no damping adjustment though Bill? Arent they like the old Supersports, enough to give you serious back issues?

not true in the case of the lupo.
not harsh at all.
quite a reasonable ride.
amazed for the price they were... for £300 notes mine cost her (me) it was worth a punt..
goes as low as feck on the front if you desire... but x1 sump bitten the dust so far its gone upward.
Just waxoil the heck out of them when you assemble them and they seem to be doing ok so far. they have been ok to adjust and not seized up like my poxy PSS9 Bilsteins did within 3 months flat on my ibiza.. x3 the cost as well.
No damping adjustment no, just ride height.
better handling then its previous setup of bilstein sports dampers and eibach springs - way less roly poly.
I would firm the spring rates up myself, but its a road car so I *must* leave it alone!
A:
PhilJ is who I bought from.
delivered from Holland within a week of payment clearing.
Manufacturer ^^^^ also seem them branded Jamex, VMaxx and some FK's all the same manufacturer however.
A:
To be fair at £280 it wont cost much more for some FK's.
A:
i would nt risk a poor ride quality an like i.a.n.b said fk's a well known brand arnt that much dearer. also coilovers play such a huge part in how the car handles how well it goes round corners etc. gettin a ****ty set could take the fun out of drivin....... i know a play on the pug ads
A:
bottom line
shall i buy them?
A:
reading up on it on the lupo forums i have bought it, thought i might as well
it will be an improvement on my current Bilstein streetline kit thats for sure

Talking from experience of the billies i had on my cavvy, replacing the springs with jellied eels and some string, the bushes with a door hinges and the dampers with elastic bands would make it better that a billie kit tbh.

lol to be honest the kit has been OK
it has served its purpose for now andi ot it second hand from ebay for £80 so i can't grumble
seeing as Bill's other half is still happy with the car, I have gone on his recommendation
Bill i blame u if it goes wrong lol!
A:
Keep us posted on your findings. I have been lookin at this kit too and Bill is the only person I have found who has used this kit so far. Apparently it has Stainless steel bodies too so no corrosion!
