Wanli ditchfinders!

A&Q about 350Z

Hi all
Just thought I'd share with you the joy of having new tyres fitted yesterday to my Mk2 Golf. I've gone for Uniroyal Rainsports (I know the Eagle F1 fan club will gasp ) as I used to have these on an old Vauxhall. Finally the Wanli (only fit for a skid pan) tyres are off!
The difference was instant even though with these tyres there is a fair old running in period, I wasn't scared for my life as I drove back from the garage! Only thing is, I now feels indestructable due to the obscene amounts of grip ha ha!

Agree with you there mate... waiting for my Wanli-1088s to wear down on the rears, had a couple of moments where back end have wanted to over take the front!!! Just replaced my fronts with another set of Avon ZZ3s, a good comprimise of cost/performance/durability. I rate Toyo-T1Rs, excellent grip but they lasted less than 10k.

Mate, burn those Wanli tyres! I had loads of tread on the tyres but no physical grip whatsoever!
I've used the Toyos before - Great great tyre in the dry but not that great in the wet I've found - Rainsports are awesome and I think I may start a Uniroyal appreciation society

Worst tyres I had was some Marshall ones, was nothing there in the wet whatsoever. Scared the life out of me a few times on them!
I've got Toyos now and find them fine in the dry and the wet.
