A&Q about 350Z
Q:
could the increased stability be new koni's though ?
Cracking track Cadwell, sounds like you had fun

Just going back to the bolt issue,
An M8 8.8 Stud has a shear strength of around 3tonnes. So 2 of them will give 6 tonnes.
What are the sizes of the strut bolts? That'll give you an idea of what loading they can take.
(The crane in our workshop weighs 8 tonne, and has a SWL of 20 tonnes, it is tested up to 30 - it is held up by 4 M12 studs )
Tub's iv'e had guidance from engineers & lifted a 30tonne machine between 2 10tonne cranes so you would be surprised how much an SWL can be .

Finally got through all that, .
For widening the rear track:
Just wondering why not just put wheel spacers on the back? as there is no problem with scrub radius's etc?
Or am I totally off track in my thinking? (no pun intended)

The new dampers will help, no doubt about that Rob as the old ones were absolutely sh4gged, but even when the FKs were new 3 years ago, the car never felt as stable as it does now.
Pity the clutch died on the POS this morning, but that's another story

Bump for mattG60
And a pic of the car in track mode at Snetterton last Tuesday. Good job there's no sound as this was the moment Ian (IV mk1 16v) came clonking down the pit lane after my gearbox failed

Im running wide track and have just fitted 16"x7.5" et35 BBS RC's with 195/45r16 tyres the car is lowered on koni shocks and eibach springs...no scrubage whatsoever on the front a tiny bit on the rear hard cornering,
much arches haven't been touched yet, so if you get them rolled you shouldn't have any probs!
A:
cool sounds ok then as long at the et on mine is 35 said on the website they can go up tot about 45 odd
my rear azevs used to rub on the arches anyway at a standard height so i know they will need doing mine is wound down on spax rsx.
also i have 215 40 16 tyres on so slighly wider but less high i think?

A:
Not got that far yet If the tyres catch and I suspect they might well do, I'll sort out the arches
Had the arches rolled recently a mate bought a Frost roller No scrubbage anymore
A:
got one of them on the way for me too....

It's a good bit of kit Bill, can be a two man job to do tho, we had to drop the top mounts off and remove the front calipers to fit it in, you need an assistant to put a bit of weight on the wing as they're a bit flimsy.

Could have just cut the front arch though
A:
Could've done, could've had a red car too

aha... yea, caliper..
will prolly have a go tomorrow weather depending on the dinked front wing I have.. already dinked so if I cock it up badly I need another one anyhows.

If any ones interested i have a mk2 widetrack kit complete with power stering rack from a passat all for £40
A:
The passat rack is no use unless you are running a cable change gearbox as it has no mounts for the rod linkage
A:
Thanks for clearing that up
In that case £30 takes it. Need space now and its just getting in the way
A:
Question?
Can you use VR6 wishbones, driveshafts and tierods to the same effect as the passat stuff?
Note: want to keep it 4x100 stud pattern.
