A&Q about 350Z
Q:
HI All
i am going to paint the calipers at the weekend, and have a pair of axle stands to sit the car on while i do it, now obviously they are to sit under the axle, but does anyone have a pic of where to exactly place them as i am a novice at this kinda thing and dont wanna damage the car
Thanks

Mk1/2/3/4?
I did this at the weekend on my Mk2.
There are jacking points on the front that the cup of a trolly Jack fits onto nicely.
The flash makes them look orange but they're a nice hammarite smoothe red.

I would never work under a car held by jack only tbh.
Axle stand every time.
A:
You have to place the jack elsewhere to get that jacking point freed up to put the axle stand on.

yeah ill second and third that lol, esp when its a cheap trolley jack.
jack the car up like shown in the pic and place the axle stand under the subframe close to where the wishbone mounts are, slowly let the jack down on to the stand
A:
I tend to use both jack and stand but let the weight rest on stand and jack acts as back up.

sorry its a MK3 2.0 16V golf if thats any help
so is it obvious where to place the stands then?

surely a axel stand each side and chocked rear wheels is sufficient tho????????
A:
It can but you can never take to much protection .

I NEVER trust a trolley jack either when spending any time under the car. The pic was taken just before the wheel went back on.
Just a quick question. Where else is safe to jack the car up at the rear? The usual place under the car is starting to look as if it's deteriorating.
