Q:
Which SEAT has these brakes?
Ive got a k Reg vento which uses the Old Mk2 16v Brakes, im going to need bigger brakes but want to keep the 4 Stud set up and dont want to go any bigger than 280mm for the wheels...
I know i cant take the Calipers and carriers from a Mk3 GTI case the hubs are different and the SEAT Set up is a little cheaper than the G60 from my experience of looking in the past..
Thanks
A:
2.0 16v Ibiza/Cordoba and Ibiza mk3 1.8T, all 6k chassis designation.
A:
why dont u use mk gti calipers and g60 disca this way u can keep ur hubs and retain the 4 stud configuration
u can use either 8v, 16v or early vr6 calipers
A:
My Vento has mk2 16v swivel hubs, (early) mk3 gti/vr6 callipers and carriers, and g60 discs for 4-stud.
A:
All you need are 280 calipers & carriers if you have 256 hubs up front aleady, and any MK3/Seat with 280s up front will do

CHeers guys, i always thought the late Mk3 Gti 280 Brake set up was different. but thanks for the info.. :-)

It's the late spec 288mm setup that's different.
A:
Great. narly got all i need then.... just got to fit it all :-)
A:
just to clarify, I've got 16v hubs, early vr6 carriers, my standard 16v calipers and 280 g60 discs. My caliper slider pins had to have 2 mm taken off the hex end to allow the right alignment for the 16v calipers. Don't think you need to do that if you use the 280 calipers.

My main concern was whether the later Caliper cariers would have the same mountings as the 16v / Early Mk3 4 stud hubs? Form whats been said sounds like they all have the same mountings.
makes my life eaiser!!
A:
yeah afaik the hubs are the same, to convert from 280 -> 288 you just need the carriers & calipers
Oh and maybe the brake hoses too, some of the later calipers had a slightly different hose connection.
A:
Oh well, better start getting the engine out and the brakes stripped and blasted!!
anyone want an 8v engine.. lol
Thanks for the comments, just wanted to make sure i was right before tearing bitsoff the car.
