A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Hi,
Been having some ongoing problems with the headlight connectors and wiring - they seem to be getting too hot and melting the connector plus the bulb is only emitting a dullish light - gets better if you move the wiring about.
Think it might be knackered wiring/earthing problem.
Are all Mk2's the same when it comes to the headlamp wiring (bar the fittings for the extra headlamps on quad-light setups)
- Was thinking of getting some from a scrappy and wiring them up instead?
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers,
Mark

fit an uprated loom instead. only uses the existing loom to trigger the relays. brighter lights to boot.
do a search on here you can make them for around 30 quid. or a member on here makes some good quality ones.
ffs don't copy the matey matey guide. its cr@p

i followed the matey-matey guide and my lights are fine

Yes, I think the matey-matey guide was pretty helpful.
I bought a "spotlight wiring loom" from Halfords for about £14. It comes with the approprate relay, fuse, and lots of useful wiring with spade connectors. Use the Matey-matey wiring diagram to piece it all together, and bob's your uncle!
Also I can't recommend the Osram Silverstar 50% brighter bulbs enough - got them from consumabulbs.com* and they were cheap and arrived next day - lights are better than new!
*other online retailers probably exist! :-)
