messed up loom please help.

hi there people. i am new and i need your help please please please.
i have purchased a mars red 83 mk1 with a dodgy 16v wiring loom. this fool has messed the car up basically. i have put a 16v engine in and got the thing fired up and it runs bit iffy but she goes...
so slowly i am taking things off repairing them and fitting.
i took lighting loom off tonight and there is a few wires been cut off so can u help please.
right; a thin white/red tracer and blue/white tracer just cut off.....darn!
i have wrote down all wire colours and noted so they can go back in.(may help others too!)
black/white tracer=indicator n/s
black/blue tracer=reseviour ontop of master cylinder
black/green tracer=indicator o/s
red/black tracer=brake light
(thick) white= main beam o/s
(thick)yellow/black tracer=low beam n/s
black=reverse light
black/yellow tracer=horn
green/red tracer=washer jet
blue=to alternator
(thick)white/black tracer=main beam n/s
(thick)yellow=low beam o/s
black/blue= reverse lights
(thin)white/red tracer=?
red/yellow tracer=brake light
(thick)red/black tracer=?
(thick)red=rad sensor
(thick)white/yellow tracer=?
brown=horn
green/black tracer=sidelights n/s
these wires all come from the yellow plug from fuse box. if anything is worng please tell me as i am quick learner and much appreciative of any advise. thank you very much

from what your saying fella might actually be better to go and source a loom thats in better condition ,having a few issues with my own valver loom

lol. to be honest the light loom isnt that bad just the fella before hand had it for track day so he's wired in and out everythin. so i jus need to no where everything goes to so i can check the stuff i have done is right. have u a mk1 16 have u?

nah mk2 ,in the middle of converting froma 5dr valver into a 3dr 1300 shell after a rather large off

i have a mk2 gti 8v too i put a 2litre in wi 16v gear box, 4 into one branch. not bad to go jus i fancy summit quicker to play wi those scoobies lol

got the easy bits done so far ,petrol pump in tank ,rear end of the car all wired in engine sitting in front of the car(waiting on engine mounts b4 the subframe can go back in ) and got all the wiring inside the front of the car to do ,kinda on pause the now due to working outside in my drive and the weaether here i sunny scotland being pish at the mo

sounds like you know what your doing dude. any reason for it going into a 1300 shell. surely its just making it harder for you? i want to put all my engine parts in a 16v shell

nah m8 just winging it.decided i've not got a lot on got a valver accident damaged and bought a 3dr shell.just fancied a wee challenge ,bit off a wee bir more than i can chew but i will percivere and get ther in the end

ive just finnished puttin my valver into my mk1 cabbie, went in easy enought, got a gud folder of info from the mk1 golf owners club email me if u want it.

hi there jamie dont suppose u could email me that folder please it could be of some use to me. just rewired my lights and they seem ok..also did an upgrade on loom with relays made a good difference so am happy. jus got few more probs now. turn lights on and the instrumental board lights (clocks) goes out.....eh? any help would be great cheers
