A&Q about 350Z
Q:
hi guys
you,ve probally been asked this question a few times before but here goes, the engine i,m using to put in my caddy sport is from a skoda octavia 2004 model, the engine seems to have a lot of stuff and pipes on it for extra emissons ect ect, for example aux air pump ond so on , it also uses 2 lamda sensors, can all of this be junked or does it play havvock with the ecu, i am an electrician but not auto electrician so i,m quite handy on car wiring just not an out and out expert, i have just brought a manaul for the skoda and it shows bugger all about the engine wiring, does anybody know where i can download/buy decent vag group wiring diagrams ect, i plan to have the imobolliser removed from the ecu by
the ecu doctor in Plymouth as i want to retain my normall clocks ect.... any help on this would be well handy............thanks for reading guys..................alex

When I did mine I ditched the carbon canister and tucked the wiring back into the loom. Not sure what the aux air pump is, so I can't help you with that. Mine also uses 2 lamda sensors. I only plumbed in the first sensor, as I read if the second is installed without a CAT between them, it thinks the CAT is faulty and goes into limp home mode. Again, I haven't even plugged in the second probe and it runs OK. Someone did mention plugging in the second one and leaving it in fresh air (say, in the scuttle) but I found it to make no difference, so left it out.
Things like missing ABS/airbag/Haldex (if you have it) also throw up error codes. You can use VAGCOM to turn them off, but you do need them connected in the first place to do it. Either that, or work out how to fool the clocks in thinking they are there and working OK, but I'm not sure how do do it at present. I have seen some mention of using resistors on the VWVortex.com forum, but I never looked into it any further.
